Why doesn’t Dallas do what the Rams did?

TB has a ton of O talent that Winston has not been able to utilize. Fitzy is a very smart QB who looks good for a bit, but then something clicks and he goes to complete crapp. TB would be for real w/ a consistent QB, yes. They are stacked on O, and have made some nice additions to improve their D. SInce we've seen this from Fitzy before, he's not that QB.
I agree. I've been beside myself the last couple of weeks watching Fitz. And Winston is too much of a gunslinger. When you have that type of talent there is no reason to take risk like that.

Winston is inconsistent. He should be throwing for 5 grand every season w/ that stack of talent on O.

Mark it down and come back if I’m wrong
I don't care if you are wrong or right. We've just seen them in one game and to make a suggestion that we should follow their approach is premature IMO. As it is every season we will not know what any team is or isn't until after the week 4 games are complete.

Actually, their approach is common sense, and that's whether it works or not. Build through the draft w/ young players, then fill in the gaps w/ FA's.

We've seen the approach fail more than we have seen it work. Heck within our own division.

All approaches fail if winning the super bowl is a barometer.

However, pretty much all super bowl winners/contenders are built this way. The first step is good, smart drafting. W/o that, you're simply not going to get there.

All? That is just not true.

They tried to get Mack and were planning on unloading him in the offseason. Chicago just put together a better package. They are going all in.

But the Cowboys don’t do it because their process is supposed to be building a long term SB contender instead of a one hit wonder. They are just failing miserably as doing that.
They failed miserably at one hit wonders too.

This off season, the Rams signed Suh, Marcus Peters, and Talib in free agency
Guess what? It’s working..........

It seems their roster/team building strategy is light years ahead of ours.

:dance::dance::dance:

There are NFL fans out there right now who are disappointed with their team’s start to the 2018 offseason. Whether it was talent lost, talent gained, or the contractual implications that ultimately impact the organization for this year and beyond, there is undoubtedly an entire fan base out there that is not satiated. They wanted more for, or from, their team.

But that is not the case for Los Angeles Rams’ fans, where there’s more excitement than downtime.

Players are being traded, picks are being shuffled, pro bowl players are being acquired, atrocious contracts are being discarded or reworked, and they are already on the books for compensatory picks in 2019. It seems as though every day in March a Rams’ fan could wake up and just feel the excitement.

Goodbye Robert Quinn, Alec Ogletree, and Trumaine Johnson. No love lost, and best of luck to you in your new homes. But hello Marcus Peters, Aqib Talib, Sam Shields, and Ndamukong Suh.

Consider it addition by subtraction. And what the Rams have added this offseason isn’t something they’re hoping to build upon for a future run deep into the postseason. It’s predicated on a Super Bowl run in 2018.

It would make too much sense.

They have the best interior D line in football. A young QB, a great RB very good WRs. D looks very good. They didn't just whip up a vince young like dream team and assemble a mishmash of random guys. This is a real football team along with a quality coach. Rams are setup very nicely. Pretty soon you'll be saying it's just 8 games, it's just 1 playoff game? lol Meanwhile in Dallas… we'll see how they look tonight, but this is a very different team and atmosphere.

We overspent in free agency for years. Obviously some people are too young to remember.

I remember it well, but you still have to utilize free agency. This team could be very good. There are many more pieces in place than those years when Jerry was throwing money around left and right. It's knowing when to spend and when to let people walk. Terrance Williams comes to mind. 4 million better spent elsewhere. The evaluation process seems to be a problem. Good teams use free agency. 7 draft picks and a bunch of undrafted players once a year simply doesn't work. You need to supplement that and be smart in the process.

First off, they have a real head coach that turned around the team. 2nd they have a real GM that hasn't mismanaged the salary cap.
