It's a basketball move. It's not just a spin move, it's a slight fake to get your opponent to commit his weight and momentum in one direction, so you can spin out of it the other direction. Romo was used to doing that in basketball against lighter and more agile defenders so doing it against players weighing a lot more and running in one direction was probably much easier for him.

That spin out of the JJ Watt sack is still awesome to watch :D

And JJ Watt is whining about it to this very day over not registering a sack on number 9 while they both were playing,,:lmao:

It's harder than it looks to get that timing down.

Prior to the spin, Romo would lure defenders into a bad angle, and defenders would bite because every tenth of a second longer the QB has the ball, the more dangerous he is-- it's hard to patiently rush a QB.

Plus, Romo was quicker than he looked.

Not sure if serious. Of course anyone can do a spin move. It's certainly not hard. Great on the dance floor.

The idea that anyone can do it with the perfect timing to make a 300 pound dlineman miss just as they bear down on you from your blindside is naïve at best. Most QB either don't see it coming or are too busy pissing their pants.

Yes, it wasn't the spin move that was special. It was Romo's feel for when and where to spin. He had an innate feel for when he was danger and what he needed to do to escape from it. If most QBs tried to spin out of danger like Romo did, they would probably get themselves killed. As it was, Romo's escapability inevitably took its toll on him.

Man, that 2014 season was so fun. I still think if it wasn't for that Dez play, we would have found ourselves in the Super Bowl. Romo was in a zone that you don't see often from QBs.

You know, that fan105 interview with Jerry Jones that Woodysgirl posted?
Ol' Jerry was talking about(if I didn't know any better) the Tachi effect that takes place during nut crackin times of stress and disorder where transpiring events unfold in slo-mode while it seems you( the person experiencing it) reacts in real time, when he was posed with the #2 Q.B. position and what he had to say about Cooper Rush.
( I don't know if the game of football really qualifies in this as most survivors of gun/ knife/fist fights and the likes talk about it,,although, that one hall of fame dude that played for the raiders(that I can't recall his name right now) was talking on sports radio about a fumble he made in the Superbowl and he said everything went into ' slow motion mode' and he could clearly see Pete Rozelle's signature on the football as it rolled away from him:lmao:)

Because the kind of QB willing to stand tough while JJ Watt is screaming towards his blind side and bait him in until the last possible moment, then spin away and chunk a touchdown bomb is not easy to come by. Romo carried his balls in a wheelbarrow.

It is a good move not hard to learn so why do other quarterbacks not use it at all.
did Tony copyright it or something?
I would like to see dak use it!
Dak has used it on occasion. Most memorable was his TD in OT last year to a wide open Witten. And of course Roger made a living with spin moves...thus his nickname.
