Why don't we open the roof more?

Still, if doing that costs a lot of money, and not doing that doesn't have a downside (or to put it differently, isn't necessary in any way), then why do it? Whether it's there or not.

I know a guy who's never opened the roof of his convertible. He says it's either too hot or the weather's too bad. So why did he buy one? "I liked the option".

People.
I remember reading somewhere when the stadium was being built that it costs about 30k to open and close the roof, but I have no link so take it for what it's worth.
I have tried researching the actual cost of opening the roof but can find zero info.

Fresh from being on a tour there last Wednesday I can offer the reason given by our guide for what it's worth. "Now the weather is turning cooler the roof will begin to be opened for games over the next few weeks as its too hot up until now" so according to the tour guides it's weather/temperature related. I'm guessing that's the script they are given to read from.

I want to know how much it actually costs Jerry to open and close.
Difficult to find a relevant linkable source.

Well, hopefully they will open it. I can't remember them opening it since a certain time period.

My research says the roof has been open for 30 games. Based on my fading memory, I can only remember a handful :muttley:

Especially when it gets to like November when it's not so hot, why don't we have the roof open more? If Jerry wants the aesthetics of the sun shining through the stadium, isn't that why the roof is retractable? What's the point of having a retractable roof if you're only going to open the roof once every few years (except for 2020)? That way, he can have curtains off to the west, and he can still get the sun shining into the stadium with the roof being open.
I read somewhere a long time ago something was wrong with the roof and they were going to need to repair it. maybe Jerry was like nope im not spending 10million to fix it we have enough light with the endzone windows we will just leave it closed. Dont have a link it was like 5 years ago when i read it.

Makes sense that there's be a mechanical failure with the roof lol. The entire stadium seems to have issues lol.

Your condescending disdain is palpable.

I heard it was because Jerry doesn't like the sun to get into his players' eyes.

You sir are a problem solver! :)

Thank you hehe. And he can have the panels positioned to be a nice big star.

Kinda like whatever that thing was over the middle of Texas Stadium. They could turn the top of it into a giant star shaped set of solar panels.
