I really think this is what we needed to open it up for our offense. Defenses will now not be able to figure out whether to double the #1 receiver lined up on the left or the #1 receiver lined up on the right. It's crazy to think of how much space TO, Williams, Witten, and Crayton will have to work in across the board. TO will no longer be stifled and considered that #1 that draws the coverage from other areas of the field. We now have someone on the other side that will burn defenses consistently if they roll coverage to TO. I really believe our offense will open up now and put up points on a consistent basis.

The defense is already coming along. We just needed to get out of that situation where we're forcing it into double and sometimes triple coverage to try and get TO the ball. That's now a thing of the past. The offense will prosper from this trade immediately. :D

Like I said earlier-IF Roy had become an Eagle, it would have changed the personality of their offense COMPLETELY. D-coordinators would shy away from spying on Westbrook, DeSean would be lined up where he SHOULD be(the slot), they would have the luxury of motioning Curtis more, which would also leave LJ/Baskett with more favorable matchups. Reid's pass-happy playbook would turn from hugely overrated to a little toy that every OC would obsess over.

Tim McMahon saying how Roy isn't much of an upgrade over Crayton is utter BS.

There are reasons why the Eagles have ZERO SuperBowl championships, Stupidity!

To the Eagles credit under Reid, they draft very well. However-I find it odd how everyone calls their FO the "golden standard" when there are just so many flaws that exist. Even New England and Pitt aren't THIS stingy and get it when it comes to "fair trades".

BTW-once upon a time ago, they let Witten and MB3 go through their fingertips b/c they opted for LJ Smith and Ryan "fumbilitis" Moats instead.:laugh1:

I'll agree Eagles are one of the golden standards of keeping a ship afloat for a decade with a lot of changing parts. Their demise is always greatly exaggerated, and they never suffer quite as much as people expect for tendency to ignore certain positions.

But a true golden standard would have a trophy of some sort to show for their troubles.

Like you said, the Eagles also have their share of flaws and are struggling to win playoff games these days just like any other middle-of-the-pack front office.

Reid blew quite of few drafts as well. Drafting USC's Winston Justice, Reggie Brown(Second Rounder, hasn't lived up to second round status) LJ Smith(Sucks) and a few others.

Stupid article full of stupid assumptions.

Roy Williams had a contract about to run out, making him a free agent.

This was not just a matter of Detroit trading him to whomever wanted him the most...any team trading for him was going to make sure they had a deal with Roy first. They wouldn't want to lose him after the season, along with their draft picks.

Now, you're Roy Williams, a guy who has been very public about wanting to return to Dallas. You know Dallas wants you...you know Philly wants you. You have the ultimate say in where you go because you agent will be negotiating the contract extension.

I think Roy had as much to do with him ending up in Dallas as JJ did. It had nothing to do with the EAgles thinking he isn't a good WR....that's hogwash.
