who said that?

whatever coach did should be fired. a quick scoring player is by definition a come from behind player.

That was what Wade Phillips said after the Washington game last season when Felix sat on the bench the entire game. Honestly, I'm just making a joke about the game today because I'm sick of watching Felix Jones sit on the bench.

He was the leading rusher for the team. Most carries and most yards. He had more carries and more yards than the rest of the team combined. He also caught 3 passes and no other RB caught even 1. He was used on Kickoff returns. No other RB was.

Myopia.

he was used on 1 kickoff return when we were down 20-3. people feel like we waste carries when Barber gets the rock cause he's so slow. they want more Felix and Choice.

Read the thread title and interpret "didn't play more."

I was responding to your comment. the way you put it you made it seem like he was returning kicks all day.

No, that isn't the way I put it. I simply included every stat and compared it to every other RB on the team. This is evidenced by the very next sentence in the post. You interpreted wrong.

Until the game was basically over with 2 minutes left in the game, Felix only had 10 carries and Barber had 8 carries. Garrett then gave the ball to Felix 4 plays in a row. Until the final two minutes of the game, Felix only had 2 more carries than Barber even though Felix is a much better player than Barber and even though Felix outperformed him dramatically vs Minnesota. That is pitiful coaching. Just downright pitiful.

you said "he was used on kickoff returns". he was used on 1 unless he returned another after it was 27-3 or 34-3. I stopped watching after they went up 27-3.

What the hell does that mean? Isn't a come from behind player?????? I do know one thing about Felix. He's our best back. Oh, he also sucks as a kick returner. Love him as a starting HB, but someone else needs to return kicks. He's WAY too tentative and never gets up to full speed.

Maybe that will help.

Or maybe not.

Wait ... wasn't it actually Garrett who said something to the effect of "We wree in come-from-behind mode and didn't have any plays for Felix" following last year's loss to Washington in which Felix got no carries?

Or did Wade reiterate that point today?

are you serious? you mention the fact that he was used on 1 kick return after the game was already over to act like he was used more. I know I get that no other rb was used on kickoff returns like they never are... that's a pretty weak claim also like someone stated he had 10 carries before the 4 straight draws to end the game.

Are you honestly trying to tell me that Felix got the ball enough today? Felix has been underutilized since he's been with the Cowboys. The only reason he got 16 carries vs Philadelphia was because Barber was hurt and they had to give him the ball. I just want Felix to be the feature back from now on. The coaches need to get Felix ball more because good things usually happen when they do.

I thought by Barber's third or so carry today it became clear he needed to take a warm spot on the bench. Typically, we don't run the ball enough to really even endanger Felix to surpassing that 20-carry mark, and I did think we missed the mark by splitting carries between the two backs today.

One back kept making something happen against one of the league's best run defenses. The other got 2 yards per carry.

I thought it was excusable how the coaches split carries for most of the regular season. Felix was injury prone and never proved he could be depended on. But after last week, I think you had to simply put all your cards on the table, so to speak, and roll with him today.
