Why have so many soured on Miles?

I feel like many people actually dont like Miles Austin at all. I know his pay is way more than someone with production should be pulling in. The hamstrings have been a thorn in the side on the team for a long time. These are serious issues, I agree. However, I dont see where these many posts about Beasley getting his reps are coming from. Williams is a nice story but he clearly doesnt have the hands as Austin.
He isnt far removed from thousand yard seasons. If you noticed him in the Giants game he looked as explosive as I remember him ever being. The guy has never caused any off the field problems and has carried out his duties in a very professional manner. If you take a look at Cowboys all time stats you might be shocked at what hes meant to the Cowboys. I cant wait to see him on the field this year showing his explosive abilities again.

Because the past 2 years he has been totally unreliable. He has made very little impact because he is not on the field. I like him and love the way he can break a play for big yards but we just haven't seen it in a long time.

I don't think you will ever see that explosive Austin here again. Certainly not on a regular basis. I like the guy but as you said his production no longer matches his pay, he is unreliable due to health issues and we have 2 more WRs not including Bryant who appear to be more productive than him and cost a lot less.

The explosiveness will remain absent. With as many recurring injuries to the hamstring he'll never run with the confidence he did before.

I feel that is a very accurate statement. I, however, think when he comes back will be the 2nd best WR on the team. At this point Williams hands dont look great at all. Apparently that was his problem at Baylor was well... If corrected the Dez/TWilliams tandom could be among the best in the NFL.

I dont know if you have the prior games available to you or if you even care enough... But if you wre to take a look at him for the opening night game. I was taken back at how he looked.... But that was an injury ago.
I'm not sour on Miles, just disappointed that he can't be on the field to help the team. He is a very good WR and I know he can help the team. Hopefully he will be healthy enough to help Cowboys push toward the playoffs.
This is the opinion I had formed. I assumed everyone would agree. I was quite shocked when I saw all the posts about dumping him and giving Beasley his reps. No way.

He put up 1000 yards lst year and had 6 TD's.

That's "very little impact"?

lol

I posted the exact same thing in another thread.... Know what I got. "He didnt have 1000 yards" lol talking about nitpicking

Yea.. you'll find alot of sour grapes if you're gonna start a thread like this.

For whatever reason, his injuries = "he doesn't care enough to get in shape" to some of the silly fans on this board.

For me, I see no fight.

No fight to keep Dez from taking the #1 receiver job.

No fight to regain the spot when he did lose it.

No fight to stay healthy with regard to the hamstrings.

No fight to hold off Williams for the #2 role.

No fight to get back on the field.

People can talk about circumstances differently, but that's honestly how I see it.

Honestly, was he suppose to have a hamstring transplant? I think most of those things are out of his control.

I think that I've soured on him is two parts. One is the injury and two is when he is on the field it seems that are times that hen isn't give 100 percent effort.

The Giants game a couple of years ago was the start for me. The lack of effort on the play when he said lost the ball in the lights. To me that was effort. As a former college receiver I would lick my chops when you have man coverage. Off the line Miles didn't explode and hence the ball looked like an overthrow, but in reality it was lack of effort. He runs the route like it is intended to be it 6 and the game is over.

Then it was last year against the Giants. Romo throws a fade to him and then he watches the db jump up and intercept the ball. He didn't even try to jump for the ball. To me the biggest thing is he effort.

Hard to support a guy who is never on the field. And even when he has he appears to have quit running on some routes.

I honestly think that he hasn't done all that he can to make sure he is as healthy as possible.

Nothing that can be proven either way, but it is how I feel.

I can't think of another player making such huge money who has missed so much time for this issue.

And, again, where's the fight?

Where is his anger or frustration?

He looks to be in hiding to me.

He seems content to ride out this contract as long as he can, whether he plays or not.

It seems to me that an avalanche of cash put the fire out.
