Who cares.

When will the guy play?

It's not like Randle is playing bad.

I also think that if he was so much better than 21 he'd be on someone's roster.

Everyone was in a hurry to replace Randle that they latched on to the first guy that came around.

Agreed. In his limited number of snaps, Randle has looked very good. If he could pass block as well as Murray, there would be little (if any) dropoff when Murray goes out.

If Jimmy Johnson or Bill Parcells was coaching this team and running back fumbled the ball 3 games in a row.. What do you think they would do? I realize that Murray is leading the league in rushing.. But how much of his success is due to the online. I would like to see a 2 back system.. If anything Murray will be fresher in December..
If Emmitt Smith fumbled three games in a row, Jimmy Johnson would run him out there again in the next game without a second thought. Why? Because he gave them the best chance to win.

Johnson even talked about this stuff. After he cut someone who fell asleep in a meeting, he was asked what he'd do if Emmitt did that. His answer was that he'd nudge him gently and ask him to wake up.

Again, you are talking about a RB that leads the league in yards per carry. Your point makes no sense. Please show me a better running back the Murray at this point in the season. The only other RB in contention would Leveon Bell, who has a 5.9 YPC.

I always SMH when people say Jimmy or Bill would have done this or done that. Thing is, we don't know, but the their legends get bigger and bigger all the time, until we get that next SB I guess....my thought is, What would have Tom Landry done...I bet he would do just what you said Jimmy would do with Emmitt.

Afterall, a QB [QB's from any team] is not benched after throwing picks in 3 straight games.

He should be on the GameDay roster. I'd start him over murray after the fumbles. He's got better vision than murray. Murray just is better in pass protection. Williams is the better ball carrier, imo.
Murray's rushing for over 5 yards an attempt. He ran for over 5 yards an attempt last year. How much better could Williams possibly be? I don't care about who has better "vision" or "moves" or speed: I care about production.

And I love, "Murray just is better in pass protection," as if that's a minor thing. As an RB, if you can't be depended on in pass protection, you can't get on the field. Period. This is why there are all these great preseason rushers across the league who become fan favorites but end up getting cut. Because they can't pass protect.

Murray doesn't lead the league in yards per carry: not sure where you're getting this idea.

Murray avg. 5.1, Bell 5.9
But Murray 385 yards, Bell 315 yards

not 100% on that, but IIRC when I looked a few days ago, that's what I remember off top of my head

Your right Murray doesn't lead the league in YPC, but he also has carried the ball 22 more times then any other back in the league. That is almost a full game of carries...

Anthony Fiammetta just got cut by the Bears.

If we're hellspent on keeping a FB for blocking reasons when teams stack the box against us, I would go with Fiammetta and cut Clutts.

My point makes no sense to you because you're trying to turn the conversation into me saying Murray isn't a quality runner.

When healthy he is one of the best. He just has crap vision but immense physical talent.

Actually Landry punished his star RBs when he felt they were not being conducive to his system. Team was winning with these guys (Duane Thomas & Tony Dorsett) but they had to perform and behave the way he thought they should, in addition to succeeding on the field. Landry actually traded Duane Thomas to the Pats at the beginning of their first SB win season but trade was rescinded, fortunately for the Cowboys. With Dorsett (like with Staubach to an extent), Landry relented and let the player play his way. Finally starting Dorsett and moving Preston Pearson to a 3rd down specialist propelled the Cowboys to their 2nd SB win.

Kevin Williams had a huge fumbling problem his rookie season of 1993. Williams fumbled the ball 8 times on 94 touches or once every 11.75 times he handled the football. Jimmy Johnson did not cut him. He kept throwing him out there to return punts and kicks.

Comments like this are ridiculous - Murray is one of the highest YPC back in the league. It is comical that you believe a practice squad player has better vision.

Murray's vision isn't his strong suit. I don't think he is JJ bad but he isn't a lot better

If Murray continues to have fumbling issues I think you have to promote Williams. This guy can ball and will prove all you doubters wrong once given the chance.

Randle is the RB2 so what good would promoting Williams do? In addition, a roster spot would have to be made for him.

I consider Williams to be a much better back than Randle, with the ball anyway. Clutts can be cut for the roster spot. If Murray fumbles, Williams should start taking the load.

I think he hits more holes then he misses and some of his cutback runs are insane. All backs miss holes from time to time. Lot harder to see those holes when you are a field level and trying to see around all the trash in front of you. If Murray goes down this team looses its mojo right now. He has some elusiveness, great power and can change directions pretty well. You will also notice that he can move a pile like no other back we have. He fights hard for his yardage. Geez, the guy is leading the league in rushing and folks are complaining that he doesn't have vision. He finds more holes then he misses for sure. I was watching Shady McCoy last week and he missed a ton of holes and everyone thinks he's the most amazing runner in the league.
