Why is Dak not playing?

See: Overshown, Demarvion.

It’s pretty clear that McCarthy doesn’t want to risk key players’ health in the preseason.

Agree or disagree. That’s why Dak isn’t playing.
Its also our fragile Oline. Have to play all starters on the Oline as not to get Dak killed. But the we probably lose a lineman. Makes little to no sense at all.

We absolutely agree on that. Don't want to ever ever see Dak behind that line we’ve seen the last two games.

I never believe in pre season, where at best he would simply hand off the ball a few times...maybe short quick pass or two. In terms of getting work in with the first unit, offenses should nothing in preseason so why bother

We haven’t played any of our key players, which could lead to a rough start in the season opener. Our most impressive rookie is out for the season with an ACL and our first round draft pick has looked like a bust. We looked terrible in the opener last season after not playing our starters in preseason. Dak hasn’t looked that sharp in camp and we haven’t looked very good in preseason.

Best to get injured in game 1 of regular season than game 1 of preseason, this way, there's less time to heal up. (see last year)

How much you want to bet MM isn't the one making that decision? Will it matter that Dak sat out the pre season if he goes down in the first game because he's rusty? I understand Jerry doesn't want a repeat of what happened to Romo, but Romo already had a bad back. The hit that ended his career wasn't that hard of a hit. It seems what hurt him the most was how he landed on his butt.

This organization simply sucks

I've always thought that the starters should be playing in preseason games for continuity, it's not the same in training camp against the same defense day in and day out, this is why the first four weeks of the season is nothing but sloppy hard to watch football..

Don’t like our approach to preseason. You should give your starters at least a couple of series, especially with a new offense. Most, if not all of the contending teams are giving their starters some preseason work. We’re not allowing our starting players to work off any rust, which could lead to another bad performance like we saw last season on opening day.

Overshown? This hasn't been reported anywhere yet. Not that I have seen.

You see Mahomes, Allen and other legitimate qbs playing preseason yet radio is still chewing gum and clapping his hands.
I don't think it's Dak's decision. And after what happened to Overshown last night I just assume deal with some rust the first game then deal with Dak, or other major contributors, being lost for the season.

That was a travesty. I felt much better when Tony got hurt in week 3 of 2015 because the game counted. Loved going 4-12.
I said this in another thread, I feel better losing someone in a game that counts for the standings then a glorified practice. Losing Romo in the preseason was far more painful than the regular season.
