Why is Dez never in motion?

Why is he always stationary lining up wide? Shouldn't we moving him around more? Get him in motion so he gets running start and CB cannot jam him.

Is Dez having hard time going in motion or know what to do if he is motioned?

Why ask why!

According to several people, Dez is too dumb to be put in motion. Who knows the real reason, though? Our coaching is strange at times.

Because it might cause confusion or mismatches and we wouldnt want that. Plus it is much easier to double him when you know right where he will be lined up every play.

In all seriousness they did put him in motion once a couple weeks ago in the redzone and he ended up with a LB trying to cover him across the field. He caught the pass and was barely pushed out of bounds at the 1 yard line. I cant remember another time since than though.

Red Jesus doesn't think Dez can run a drag route across after going in motion? Is Dez that dumb or are our coaches that stupid?

I don't remember Dez being put in a bunch formation either.

And only the X Receiver and nothing but the X Receiver apparently.

He can be nothing other than the X Receiver.

No motion for you!

Banned- 1 year!!!

But...

Banned- entire career!!!

perfect your craft, then work on other areas, this is the first year I have seen calvin in the slot and using motion with him on a pretty much every game basis. Let dez learn every nuance of this position then learn something else

Dez according to all report is a hard worker. So it's on the coaches for not helping him perfect the craft and learn motion.

Dez isn't 6'5 with 42 inch vertical nor does he run 4.3 so he needs to get his *** to the coaches office and figure out how to get his *** open quickly not when Romo is being kills behind this OL.

I get what you're saying.

Maybe I'm too impatient with a player's learning curve.

I don't know- I'm not an NFL player. Thank you for bringing a little perspective to me. I'm going to do a little research on this.

Get to know what the real expectations should be on a WR- year by year. If that's possible.

It really amazes me when I read posts from people who sound like they think they'd do a better job designing our offense or calling plays.

Apply for the job, finagle an interview with Jerry and Stephen, and BLOW THEM AWAY on the whiteboard!

Again I think it is by scheme and the reason why it appears the WRs are not getting open quickly is because of design and how Romo goes through his progressions. It's not a smooth transition at all which causes the the routes to appear that they are long developing or the WR isn't open. JMO something for the guys with the all 22 film could maybe look at it and chart this.

I have wondered this forever. It's pretty frustrating seeing all the other top WRs in motion to get open looks and not Dez.

You honestly don't think putting Dez in motion a few times, would benefit him in getting more open looks? Wow...

We are just asking a question. Never said we are better than the coaches. We can't ask anymore?

There are tons of ways to help a WR get open and sending him in motion is potentially just one of those ways. But by all means, keep pretending you know better than experienced NFL coaches.

How many times did you see Marvin Harrison in motion? Something like never?

its a message board/forum for people to express their POV.

What do you expect?

People to agree with everyuthing we do?

That'd show nothing short of personal stupidity given that we are 135-135 over the last goodness knows how many years.

Plus it'd be a non existent board cos it'd be boring and everybody would agree.

The offense needs more creativity , thats not even up for debate imo. Getting Dez in motion is one way to give him more seperation, the 9ers did it with jerry rice all the time. Having him in a stack behind 2 other wr's is another, its a legit concern imo.

They need to get more creative with Dez. No doubt about that.

Just watch what Detroit did with Calvin for Exhibit A.

Marvin Harrison didn't have the YAC ability that Dez has. MH ran precise routes and had EXCELLENT speed. We all know Dez doesn't run the most precise routes. Putting him in motion would help him get open, plain and simple.

But it is true that you don't HAVE TO send WRs in motion for them be all pro, it sure does add another element to game-planning though.
