Wonder why the media doesn't ask Garrett this question or on talking Cowboys?

I agree 100% about the scheme issues. A good offensive system/scheme is suppose to make the receivers look good. Just watch the packers offense. The packers offensive system made matt flynn millions! It's fluid and everything seems to be in rhythm. Not chaotic like ours.

Their system is not helping Seneca Wallace right now.

They all carry i-Pads now, don't they?

No excuses now- I'm sending plays I made up when I was 9 with my buds from the sandlot.

Super-Ultra triple flea-flickers.

And most especially- yelling "Do-over!" when the play messes up.

That's some Secret Sauce right there.

That's funny

Yeah, we'd be WAY better than .500 over that span if the coaches listened to the fans more!

Yes, it's a message board and you're obviously allowed to express your point of view. Do I have that same right? Or is it reserved only for people you agree with?

Good point. And that point is well taken.

At least by a no-good, goody two-shoes like me whom this post wasn't even intended toward.

Carry on, Nav- I like your chutzpah.

Dez according to all report is a hard worker. So it's on the coaches for not helping him perfect the craft and learn motion.

Dez isn't 6'5 with 42 inch vertical nor does he run 4.3 so he needs to get his *** to the coaches office and figure out how to get his *** open quickly not when Romo is being kills behind this OL.

There in lies the problem, he at this point, should be trusting that his coaches know best and that is what he is doing, you can't fault the kid both ways.

Just gotta grab the little nuances and easy tricks from Sean Paytons sets. The little 2 man bunch plays that would have T-Will on a go pattern that would take the Safety over deep and allow Dez to break across on single. Saw Payton slide a TE outside Colston which because of the threat of a quik snap took the CB with the TE, leaving a S or LB on Colston............Payton has a lot of these "goodies" that really don't require Dez to commit to memory anymore on a route than what he already knows, its simply coaching that puts a WR at a advantage over the D.

-------the NFL is a copycat league---no reason to fight that.

It really amazes me when I read posts from people who sound like they think they'd do a better job designing our offense or calling plays.

Apply for the job, finagle an interview with Jerry and Stephen, and BLOW THEM AWAY on the whiteboard!

You don't think there are people on this board that could design an offense that would get Dez open more than he has? I think there are and if they had the connections and the opportunity they could absolutely do a better job. I like the personality that JG has instilled on this team but I truly believe that his offense is WAAAAAAY outdated. We don't use rub routes, quick slants, bunch formations, or even put him in motion. Dez does do a great "deep in" but that's not the same as a quick slant. Yes, people (not me), could absolutely design a better defense for Dez. Remember there are a lot of fans willing to take up the challenge if it's ever offered. Tampa Bay had a whole crowd of people waiting at 5:30 in the morning last Tuesday after their DCoordinator threw out his challenge and not a single one was allowed to even sniff a chance. Job security is still a fear even at the NFL level. And peons like us will never get a chance, no matter how much we know.

Honestly, do people really believe that between Callahan, Garrett, romo, and the rest of coaching staff no one has thought of a way to move dez around ?

I'm sure that they have looked at this and for some reason decided against it.

Why, we don't know. Some have speculated that dez does not know the other routes.

Could be they don't like playing Beasley or Williams in the x position. Could be Williams is too raw and inexperienced to move around right now.

Whatever the reason. They obviously don't feel the risk/reward is worth it at this point in time

Why would you want Dez moving left-right at the snap instead of going north-south? Why do you want Dez moving towards the slot That seems silly to me.

You use motion to get guys into the flats/shallow crossing routes or to help them get off press coverage. I don't think Dez's biggest plays come in the flats and it's laughable to think he needs help beating press coverage.

Kurt Warner talked about the offense Sunday morning. He said it was too static and needed more creativity. But what would he know about offense?

Well the joke is on Kurt Warner, because the Dallas think tank figured out that you can just "take what the defense is giving you" without worrying about such things!

Its not even just the movement, what about bunch formations and pick routes? Every team in the league uses motion, bunches and pick type routes to create holes in the defense but Dallas.

Yes, you have to take what the defense gives you, but at the same time you need to force them into difficult situations so they give you stuff via scheme or breakdowns in their coverage. Can anyone really state they honestly believe JG's offense is maximizing either of those things?

When TO was here and the offense was struggling in 2008 or 2009, he mentioned to ask the coaches why he's not being used in motion (mybe slot aswell) and so forth according to his skill-set. I wish I could find that article.

Because it might cause confusion or mismatches and we wouldnt want that. Plus it is much easier to double him when you know right where he will be lined up every play.

In all seriousness they did put him in motion once a couple weeks ago in the redzone and he ended up with a LB trying to cover him across the field. He caught the pass and was barely pushed out of bounds at the 1 yard line. I cant remember another time since than though.

Ran some drag routes against Denver, not sure if they were initiated by some motion though.. lo and behold, we exploded for over 40 points. He had a drag route I believe only once agiants Detroit and that was the pass he was wide-open but Romo threw it behind him.

We are just asking a question. Never said we are better than the coaches. We can't ask anymore?

I give you two years of QB coaching and I don't know you personally, but I wouldn't be surprised if you turned out better than Garrett.

Unfortunately Garrett doesn't like copying what works. It seems that he wants plays to be run like what is on the playbook. Thus we have such and inept offense despite the talent we have there.
