Bunch of old men posting here on the site.

A Good portion of them are balding which is depressing after years of having a beautiful head full of hair.

Most do not care for this time of the year when it is colder and it causes the old arthritis to make the joints hurt.

Some have some kids in the neighborhood that are constantly running on their property so they have to open the door and yell out....STAY OFF MY LAWN!

When they have to drive somewhere they have to deal with idiots going slower than them and maniacs driving faster than them.

As Bob Seger sang, todays music aint got the same old soul, they just need that old rock n roll.

Your favorite sports team poops the bed in the playoffs and you are now just waiting for the draft.

And last but surely not least...

Many sit too long in front of the puter and their Hemorrhoids flair up.

Dam fellas, I jump on her to scan the threads for any news updates from the day and almost every thread is just a dick measuring contest between posters and its like that in almost every thread, regardless of topic.

Be it about Dak, Zeke, free agency, the salary cap, NFL honors, Michael Irvin, Jerry Jones, the SuperBowl, the Eagles, team building, the draft, the coaches, etc...

It instantly turns into nothing but one poster or group of posters going after another poster or another group of posters and stuff like "you aint a real fan, you are stupid, you are a miserable hater and I cant imagine living my life like that, go find another team, Dak sucks, no Dak is the greatest, Moore was the entire reason this offense was good, no he wasnt you are just a Moore jock rider because you hate Dak, the Eagles are the blueprint on how to properly build a team, no they are not, they just got lucky and you are too busy riding their jock to realize it, and on and on and on........

If somebody does not agree with you, it doesnt mean they stupid, they are not a "real fan", they need to go root for another team, they are a hater, they have a miserable life, ect. Everybody here is a Cowboy's fan and wants to win a SB, we just all have different opinions on how best to accomplish that goal and yes, that can sometimes be different from your opinion or how you would do things.

Can we at least have some civil discourse and debate without the personal attacks and insults? Maybe I just need to take a break from this site for a while until things settle down, I am sure somebody will respond, "yeah, get out of here you fake fan", LOL.
Beast, it is not this forum or anything on this site, it is the state of affairs we find ourselves in as a society. And this is social media with all of the inherent issues that brings.

People I know have either gotten hardened by it and are prepared to do battle themselves or tried to withdraw from it.

People have accepted permission to show their ugly side and this shows few signs of slowing down.

The internet can be a most beneficial tool just like social media can be for some people but it can be permission to peel back the layers on the darkness within us, the anger and the pain to diffuse by distribution.

The problem is too many don't see a human being with feelings at the other end on that keyboard so they write things they would not say to them in person and I have tried to adhere to one rule while using the internet, don't write anything I wouldn't say to them in person.

All comes back for me in the form of the greatest advice I have ever seen. "Treat everyone with kindness for you know not the battles they fight".

Some of the “anger” problems we seem to have on this site often come from these avoidable prototypes:
  • The need to always be “right” in their evaluations/opinions folks. The “I’m right and you’re wrong” crowd gets a lot of folks here in trouble. Wish we could just throw down opinions and let people agree or disagree. (A little secret for all of us- no one here is always right!)
  • The “I’m an expert football guru and you’re not” fan- a step above the “I’m always right” guys are the self proclaimed “experts“ who have the arrogant air of their opinions being not only “right” but obviously right, lol. Often bully fans who are just having fun.
  • The “You’re a hater and I’m the ultimate decider of who the haters are”- no explanation necessary. I hate the term “hater” because it’s a lazy response.
  • The “Us vs Them” crowd. Tribalism at its worst. Comes in multiple forms- “Dak Lovers”, “Dak Haters”, “If you like this guy, you’re an idiot”…etc, etc. Can’t allow anything in-between. (Like Dak has had some good games and he’s also cost us games- both can be right)
  • The thought police- Accuse people of saying things they didn’t say or “if you have this opinion, you’re clearly not a Cowboys fan”. Can cause countless unnecessary arguments because of projecting what some “really meant” or deciding what’s an “acceptable“ opinion or not.
Bottom Line- we all need to respect each other as Cowboys fans. The diversity of opinions are EXACTLY what makes this place a fun and interesting place. Treat everyone like you would want to be treated.

I noticed thst many of the instigators are accounts created recently. Many of them only posts anti Dak content. Nothing else. I have doubts these posters are Cowboys fans.
That observation is likely true but only to an extent. The site has attracted tens of thousands to lurker or join over the decades but it has only enticed a small percentage of actual fans who actively browse the internet, There will always be brand new members joining CowboysZone, whether they follow the franchise or not. And there are still Cowboys fans existing within that large untapped pool with personally held negative opinions.

Different people handle stress differently. Some folks can post negative stuff every couple of days or weeks or months. Other folks are compelled to post negative stuff every day and often multiple times every day. It can be frustrating for a member to witness every single time they log on but CowboysZone is actually a much better beneficial outlet for the latter's lack for self-coping that helps deal with the franchise's shortcomings.

I agree, it is placed in better perspective when you realize that we have well over 500 members and there are only about a dozen who can/will stir the pot and make a fairly normal person go ballistic at times (I got sucked in to their game once or twice myself). Keep track of them and simply don't bother with them or better yet place them on Ignore.:flagwave:

I agree. It is ridiculous, really.

I’ve just been spending most of my time this offseason in the draft zone, where, for the most part things are kept civil and just focused on what the team needs to do to improve. It is great. Just like the fan zone used to be.
Have to agree with Asthma. I spend most visits In the draft zone. The non stop crap in the other forum is the main reason why I don’t visit more often. When I was on here more often a long time ago, I had about 60+ members blocked. I figured that’s not worth it!

Its ironic to watch the haters and the doom and gloomers be so upset when they predicted we wouldnt even make the playoffs this year. Some are the same trolls that predicted the team would cave, the offense would be in the bottom half of the league and we would never win a playoff game.
It was actually the cheerleaders that were calling people losers and saying posters weren’t real men. Some even doubted posters military service. Same 3-4 are usually the issue. Your comment doesn’t help a thing. See Bobs post

Once you figure out how to sift through the fights to find the football talk, it’s not so bad.

Agree with all of this. The hater thing especially. I’ve never seen a sport/team not have fans that want players/management etc to improve or be better. It’s not hate. It’s wanting better.

I agree on most of things you said above, but typically people who just post negative stuff, posts anti Jones, anti <name a coach>, anti <name a player>, anti refs etc. It's the ones who only show up to post only anti Dak posts are the ones that I have doubts about.
