Why is everyone so quiet about Roy having 2 picks already?

I can't believe how many fans were ready to sell this fella out last year because of his perceived lack of coverage skills. Newsflash, Roy is leading the team in picks, one a game, hell, he's the ONLY guy with interceptions.

Nice play tonight. Totally read the QB and jumped in for the pick. Maybe his critics will lay off him now that he's picking up those glorious interception numbers.

Seriously. This needs to be that year he shuts all the "can't cover" people up. He's made some really exceptional plays on the ball. They were both lofted, but he made up the ground tonight, and had perfect coverage in game 1.

Roy is the man.

i never understood people saying "roy sucks in coverage" unless they just parakeet typical media crap, and if that's what they do then i'm not really talking to a fan, so i just ignore it cause it's freaking stupid.

proven again tonight but when someone has to find fault in roy, they'll dust this junk off and shout it out again cause there's nothing else they can say.

gets so very old.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Roy Williams is a PLAYMAKER. He makes things happen. He changes the game. You can't have too many guys like that on your team.

It's an illusion the guy can't really cover we all know that. ;)

He always has been a great player, though to me I think he looks better than he ever has.

I think he is finally comfortable with this defense and I also think that he is very at peace in his personal life right now.

Hmmm...a pick a game. That would be a pretty good average to carry over the whole year...hehehe

It's hilarious how when the Skins trolls would trot out their "Roy sucks in coverage", we'd ask them to find us examples of him getting his *** kicked. They could never find any. OTOH, we could find about six examples on Taylor (yes, they play different position, but the comparisons, you know are inevitable) in about 5 minutes.

BAseless claims, made by stupid people.

Roy's been making potential game-changers for years.

Heck, even last week against Jacksonville....Up, what, 10-3, he intercepts a driving Jacksonville team....only to have Bledsoe throw a pick the other way.

That's his problem. Most of the time he delivers a big play, the offense hands it right back. Or, at least, that's what it has 'seemed' like to me.

I think what's really going unnoticed is the tremendous amount of valuable playing time Patrick Watkins is getting and he's doing a pretty good job.

proly 'cause we're 1-1 and threw away last weeks game.

even tuna said he's "improved in coverage" this year (so it's not like those of us critical about him were out of line)

To me, Taylor is the one that 'can't' cover.

Oh, he's got the talent. He could man-up against most receivers as a corner in terms of physical ability.

Unfortunately, that head of his is attached to the rest of his otherwise superbly gifted self.

The guy's decision making is suspect to make the least, be it committing big penalties or blowing coverage.

Sorry, but I'm not buying the "Sean Taylor for Pro Bowl" talk any time soon.

Cuz most of them are too busy fantasizing about Troy Polamalu's hair flowing in the wind.

:lmao2:

Way too funny! I'll take Roy over TP and ST any day of the week.

I'm so glad he had that pick... hopefully that will shut up the Commander fans here who are always touting Thug Taylor over Roy.

I really think he's going to have the best year of his career. Finally has a decent safety since Woody. Most pressure by the front seven since Roy has been here. Newman is a shutdown corner. Henry and Glenn make the best nickel package in Roy's career in Big D. Everything is in place. Hope he gets the same manlove Troy Polamalu does from the press.
