Here's the key to your wrong-thinking: Buehler "can't possibly be worse then [sic] Folk."

Why yes. Yes, he certainly can. Maybe not in your imagination, but in real life he could miss up to and including 100% of his FG tries. That would be worse.

And that "Repeating the same actions and expecting different results is the very definition of insanity" quote is endlessly misused: no Cowboy fan wants Folk to "repeat the same action". That would mean making a bad kick. We want a different action: an accurate kick. That different action is what provides the different result: 3 points.

There's tiny chance Buehler will be worse then Folk right now, but even his worst year in college is not as bad Folk's season this year. Honestly if you have a decent leg and go out and kick 8 balls in the direction of the FG post chances are you can probably fluke 2 of them inn there anyways that's where Folk is right now.

It's this kind of "well, i know he's bad but i don't know if someone else is so i'll play it safe and go with bad" thinking that breeds losers. You can keep going around wondering why we keep losing when one of the reasons is staring you right in the face all you want. Personally, if it was up to me i'd do something about it.

Well lets use that logic for a while just for fun, if replying to a thread with that subject is the same as coming up with the subject then why don't you tell me why you want Folk fired

You wanna talk about being all over the place i'm not the one here trying to twist your words trying to explain a stupid reply

WHY IS FOLK STILL HERE???

when i read a question like that in the subject, no i don't pay too much attention to what else they're going to say. there's only so much self-inflicted frustrations i can put up with these days.

you tell me 1st what else it would mean about WHY IS FOLK STILL HERE and maybe i'll go back and read more of your post.

but i doubt it.

I would do something about it too. But what I would do is get a kicking coach (I miss Steve Hoffman) to work with Folk to find out what the problem is. I think we've eliminated the holder as a concern, so it's likely something in his technique. And those kinds of things are fixable.

Why don't you tell me first why you want Folk fired?

i don't - i'm still playing off the OPs subject line and you kinda got in the middle of that with your other thoughts and i'm just now catching that, so my bad there.

i don't want folk fired, i don't even want to sit him down right now. i don't feel change for the sake of change is the answer like some are willing to do.

it's frustrating as hell yes - but i'm not gonna blow off 2 years of great kicking because he's in a rut.

I agree, but i just think that's an offseason move. Right now it makes more sense to go with Buehler. There would be 1 more opening on the gameday roster and with our recent run of injuries that's not a bad thing. I'd rather do that and take my chances that Buehler could at the very least match Folks abysmal kicking right now.
If he misses then we're really no worse off then we would have been with Folk anyways

It's early days, but Buehler is not looking better than Folk right now.

http://cowboysblog.***BANNED-URL***/archives/2009/12/assessing-the-kicking-competition.html

"Day 1 of the Nick Folk-David Buehler kicking competition went to Folk.

Each took four tries. Folk made two. Buehler made one. It was difficult to judge the distance from where the media had to watch practice.

The conditions were rough. It's pretty cold and they were kicking into the wind. All three of Buehler's misses were to the right.

In other practice news, Ken Hamlin was back on the practice field but there was no sign of DeMarcus Ware, Martellus Bennett or Pat Watkins."
