3rd grade is a prerequisite ? That's it.
Explains it all.

Your post was completely unnecessary. Completely. Were you intending to denigrate Wade Phillips? That might have held more weight before he tore the league a new one on the way to a 13-3 season. Were you really concerned that someone may have seen my post and thought "Wade Phillips is an 80% winning pct. coach for his career? That's amazing!"

I doubt it.

Me being a smart***, doesn't really explain you being a ...Nevermind.

If you were being a smart***, I don't see why you would mind me giving some of that back. If you can't stand the heat...

Sadly, this post will fall on deaf ears.

I will say this again, there are only 32 NFL Head Coaching jobs in the World. Very exclusive club and while anyone with an opportunity to join this exclusive club needs to be very selective about the one they choose, they must also strike while the iron is hot.

Unless Red Jesus has a contract that states that he is the next Head Coach of the Dallas Cowboys, he would be foolish to just take Jerry Jones' word for it.
Careful, you're risking the combined wrath of the Communists and the Christians with that nickname.

I like Garret alot, and I hope down the road he does coach this team.

I think he's going to be a good coach. But I have a feeling he sticks around here for a while. I mean, he's been around the league for a while now (mostly as a player)...but does that mean he can evaluate players at all positions? Can he build a roster.

I thought Redball was suppossed to be heir apparent after learning the ropes from Wade for a couple of seasons. There is even suppossed to be some sort of succession plan according to Mort.

It this is true, why is Garrett interviewing with Falcons, Ravens, ect....

What if Atlanta offers him the keys to the franchise and a map to the lost city of gold?

I just dont want to go back to that conservative, play-not-to-lose offense before Redball was here.

You misheard it isn't a succession plan it is a sucksession plan. Insert rubber in his nickname because he may have an affinity for bouncing all over the place.

Generally speaking, the simplest explanation is usually the correct one.

Jason Garrett is prolly interviewing for vacated HC positions because there is no elaborate, Machiavellian, plan for him to succeed Wade Phillips. And why would there be?

Wade was only hired last offseason - and after an exhaustive process conducted by Jones himself. Add that to the fact Phillips just compiled a 13-3 record in the inaugural year of his stint here and it becomes kinda obvious that Garrett is prolly gonna get many shots elsewhere before he gets one in Dallas.

I really like Jason Garrett and the job he's done here but I wouldn't read too much into his being hired before Phillips was named as HC. It just means Jerry liked him too and maybe that, although he realized Jason was nowhere near ready to take over a team, Jones was hoping he would fly "under the radar" for a few years. Unfortunately, the rest of the league seem to be observant football men as well.

We can revel in the fact that Jason was a bet that paid off in the short-term but we should prolly get used to the idea that he will be gone before Phillips is ready to hang 'em up. If not this year - then next (Garrett that is - not Phillips).

If we get bounced early like old Marty, Wade might start getting a little uncomfortable if you know what I mean.;)
