Why is no one talking about the Pats resting people?

They seemingly would have more to lose than anyone if they got a key player hurt... So why is there so much talk about every other team resting players but not them?

:D Because they pats are *******s and probably won't rest anyone to run up the score and get 16-0.

It's assumed they will play everyone until the game is decided because of the 16-0 thing.

Going undefeated and winning a Super Bowl would be much bigger than winning a Super Bowl after a 15-1 season.

It's just a bigger, better goal.

Exactly.

Bellichick is rolling the dice and I hope it bits him in the ***. Everyone knows he doesnt pull his starters. Hell, he plays them when they're up by 28 points with 6 minutes left in the game.

Because they are going for an undefeated season. Only one other team in history has done that...so I would imagine that is a goal that most would consider ok if they did not rest their players even though they have clinched with home field advantage.

Now if they got up by a huge amount during the game...I could see resting starters at that time.

However I know if the Cowboys were in a similar situation to get an undefeated season we would all probably want them to play the starters and win the game to get the undefeated season.

Yep.

I understand them wanting to make history, but I wouldn't be surprised if they leave their starters in with a comfortable lead - and continuously throw the long ball.

Obviously, going undefeated is the reason... But the reason you wouldn't play starters the whole game is so they don't get hurt. That doesn't change just because you haven't lost a game yet. If it's smart to rest guys and get them out of harm's way, the logic doesn't change just because you're undefeated. If Moss or Brady got hurt in a 17-10 game in the 3rd quarter and they didn't win it all, it would be a total disaster for them.

Are Pats fans even concerned about that? I don't know.

Part of my point is that if they can play a full cast, why can't we? Surely they have a few guys nicked up, don't they?

Part of the Pats karma is important players never get hurt. No worries at all. Those issues are for the little people to worry about.

Wade had a great point today - You can't rest them all. You need to field a team and play the game and fill ST's. Also need to backfill when/if backups get hurt also.

The way some are talking teams should just forfeit and cancel the game. NFL will never let that happen.

Yeah, I guess that's part of my point, too. NFLN had segments on how many people we'd rest, and even the Pats' opponent the Giants, but nothing on them. It's like they're invincible and none of their players could possibly get hurt.

The whole thing is weird. Fran Charles on NFLN says that they're simulcasting it on CBS and NBC because they want everyone to see history. Is there even a chance that they lose?

Seems impossible they lose this week since the Giants have nothing to play for and a cross country trip ahead for the first playoff game.

Sorry, but 16-0 and losing or not even making the Superbowl would just mean that it was one of the biggest BLUNDERS in sports.

I will laugh like crazy if he DOES leave everybody in there and has injuries that cost him.

The other variable is the off week. If I was guessing on the/Giants.

BB will rest the dinged and go all after Giants with starters and pull them by half/third.

BB is a historian of the game and 16-0 he gets the impact of that. Harrison today on radio was big on one more game to win. Players are fueled and defiant and may want 16-0 more than BB.......

Belichick is the most egotistical coach this side of Parcells

I don't wish injury on any player, but when the Pats run up the score and something bad happens I sure won't feel sorry for them.
