Why isnt Newman Returning Punts?

That is the primary reason he was drafted higher than Marcus Trufant, because of his return ability.

I highly doubt that. MUCH more likely he was taken first because of his speed.

That is a plain fact. He was taken over Newman primarily because of his Return Ability.

Go back and read the analysis of him and Trufant. They were both considered pretty good cover guys, but the one thing that separated the two, was Newman's outstand return ability.

He was a beast when returning punts at KS.

Actually I heard it was because he had that closing speed (i think that's the word). Even if he was beat, he can still get to the man..

So altho his punt rtn skills were a plus, folks were definitely drooling over his speed during the combine...

Remember he did catch Moss from behind running at full speed...
