Why it's good Philly and Washington are in the NFC Championship Game!

bull crap. Goff's contract is only 5M less than Dak. Hurts contract is 7M less. over all Philly top 6 contract is 193M. dallas top 6 is 153M..... yet they were able to sign FA, extend players and hand a large contract to their QB.

you are just repeating a Joneses mantra of we don't have cap, because of your bias against Dak....the contract is not the issue when everyone else is doing it.

and this is not a defense of Dak to say he deserved the contract, just that the contract is not the problem. Jerry and stephen are.

so your very last statement is the key to all of this
Great post…2 simple restructures of Dak and CeeDee’s contracts (that were already built in to the deals) give the Cowboys $58+M in Cap Space. Extending Micah LOWERS his already accounted for $21+M Cap Hit (probably $10M LOWER). So, the Cowboys, with 3 EXPECTED MOVES, will have well over $65M in Cap Space. Yet, we know Jerry and Stephen are gonna cry “Wolf” about the whole situation…

Hurts is 5 yrs. $255 million or $51 million AAV. $9 million per season less than Dak’s gaudy $60 million per season.

Screw Jerry and Stephen!

They can find the money to make the team better they just refuse to.
Why bother when you can make money just being mediocre? Winning requires too much effort and work. Why bother when you can make the same money by doing the bare minimum? This crap is only ever going to change when season ticket holders refuse to purchase tickets before the season. Just flat out don't buy it until they improve the product. After all who wants to go pay for overpriced beer and hot dogs and see a crap product on the field? I can do that from the comfort of my home.

Jalen Hurts is also 26 years old vs. Dak at 31. The Dallas Cowboys made a subpar QB who is on the downside of his career the highest payed player in the NFL and effectively destroyed any chance of this team being competitive for the next 4 - 5 years. Maybe even beyond because I suspect that Jerry is going to move that 240 million over more years thereby furthering the misery of having said subpar QB. I suspect the next few years are going to make the Campo years look good in comparison.

A reasonable case could be made that Ceedee is the best receiver in football - and may be that good for the foreseeable future. Try making that case for Mr. Stats.
But we're talking about contracts right? Cee Dee money stats are courtesy of Mr. Stats too.....right? Not sure one contract is justifiable and another is not. Hmmm.

I get all of that. But why own a team just to make money? Jerry played football and won a NC at Arkansas. He’s 82 now. If we were to win another SB his money might double. That’s what he doesn’t understand

He's worth it

A franchise makeover doesn't involve getting rid of him and his contract
.....you want Cooper or Lance tossing to him on a regular basis? No question Cee Dee is worthy but.......(fill in the rest).

Commodes vs Bills would please me.....let's see somebody else get the Lombardi for a change.

Enjoy the NFC Championship game, Jerry.

I'm happy for the Skins.
True Cinderella story.....Quinn and Daniels have officially eclipsed Demico Ryan's and Strouds great year last season

A new beginning of hope in DC today!

Change your diet, little one...you might grow up and stop whining
I would tell you to change your outlook but since you live in South Texas, that's not going to happen. Small city for small-minded people. Great fit.

In the modern NFL you need, consistent run game and at least 2 stellar WR's or a WR, TE tandem. Or you need a QB who is competent enough to overcome some limitations to talent. The guys who elevate their receivers. We have one really good receiver, no RB and a subpar QB.

Big talk from punks that can't back it up...your size 6 shoe fits, wear it.

You would like to believe that wouldn't you big man. Enjoy your pillar of salt mentality and your small backwards city. You two were made for each other.

Just noticed you live in Austin....I love that place....my wife is a UT Ex, had season tickets to the Texas games and a house in Los balcones....but, I wouldn't live there, because of people like you. Whining and complaining about everything and never doing anything about it. I'd rather be in my small town....hook em!

They will occasionally kick the salary cap can down the road. The question is to what end? They don't have the confidence to go out and build through free agency. That requires expertise of current NFL players and we don't have that in the front office. They would rather just pay the guys they know more money and keep things interesting. Jerry still thinks he has a 12 win roster of talent.

.....you mentioned some of the things that make everything well.....you missed on struggling OL early....but when our starting QB got injured......we replaced him with subpar QBs despite the Fan Club banter.

I think the real question here is did we keep the right coach? I mean Quinn is the head coach of the Commanders and Moore is the OC of Philly. Hate to say it but we let both move on and they are now in the NFC Championship Game. We stuck with MM and we are, well let's just say we are still watching football instead of playing football. To add insult to injury, we no longer have any coaches and seem to be lost without a plan even after we put all our coaches through a lame duck year. SMH...
Eagles were already a contender without Moore. Idk how to explain the Commanders turning it around though.

You attack me, and my home because of an opinion and then I'm the backward thinking one....Austin isn't weird, people like you, are.

I agree. This is the best outcome for Dallas because of what you said. Jerry has to be burning inside that two division rivals are where he hasn't been in 30 years. But, Jerry doesn't think like we do. He may interpret this thing in a completely different way.

My takeaway is the Cowboys are much farther from getting to the NFCC game than they think. They are closer to falling behind the Giants.
