In college McGovern played at least 1 season at OC but he does not even practice at OC for the Cowboys.

I pointed this out going back to when he was drafted as a possible issue:

He used what I've referred to as a reverse grip on the ball.

The image below is my attempt to illustrate how he snapped the ball as compared to the conventional method.

It might be fine for QB under center snaps but for shotgun snaps it's like a knuckleball pitcher in baseball.

That’s interesting though I can’t imagine his snaps could be worse than CW
To me we need to get a vet now

Then what good is he? He can not even beat CW out for the backup center spot much less a guard spot. They will have to waste a roster spot on a backup just for center which is unfortunate.

Didn't know that. Interesting.

He can't learn the other way?

Of course it's possible he tried in practice and was even worse than Williams.

CW only had 1 legitimately bad snap in the AZ game (the one that hit the ground).

The snap that went up into the air initially hit the QB in the hands about waist high.
- It had too much velocity but the QB should be able to handle it.

Some of this other snaps might not have been perfect but they didn't impact the QB.

...lol.. thanks Xwalker for that info tidbit. I didn't even know that hiking the ball is a form of art. Thought it was done all one way.

Ya I wouldn’t mind pulling Looney out of retirement as a back up if that’s an option unless he is giants property
