Why no help for Steele at the end?

The Eagles got three sacks in the last three minutes. It was clear that Steele was getting rag dolled by Philly's D line. When the game came down to the end, why didn't the coaching staff give Steele any help? I'm just at the point where I think even if Dak is 100% perfect, the coaches will somehow screw it up against a good team at the end. The Eagles were tossing their scrubs in to cover short term injuries to their CB's and we still can't take advantage of the situation. And no, I'm not defending Dak here--he made mistakes but balled out for the most part. But a great coach could have mitigated those, and we could have won this game.

Ya know, Aaron Rodgers may have been right all along.

Schoonmaker needs to block and that’s about it. He can stay and help from now on.

I just dont understand how Steele doesn't get help there at the end. He was abused, especially those last 5-6 minutes. You went 5 wide there, no backs so that's screaming quick throw there by Dak. It should shock no one that Steele got beat for the game ending sack (for all intents and purposes). Why not even just chip the DE on Steele's side?

Questionable decision by coaching staff, awful play by Steele and yeah, Dak probably needs to sense what's going on better and fire that ball somewhere quickly to not take a sakc.

You can have a TE or RB chip him to make sure he does not beat Steele on an outside rush. The TE can still get out on a pass route. Teams do this all the time to Parsons.
The defense isn't going to defend the TE 5 yards down the field in that situation, he's not going to pull a defender. They'll give you that completion and let the clock run.

Not impressed with this O-Line coach. But Steele had a bad game. He was maybe rushed back from injury to quickly..
Steele had a horrible game. I don’t know if oline struggles are the OL coach or just the players. But Steele was so bad it can’t be all coaching

While many fans are going through their weekly ritual of placing the blame 100% squarely on the shoulders of Dak here's an interesting observation to consider: If the Cowboys could have swapped one player with the Eagles last night - and that player was right tackle Lane Johnson - who do you think wins this game?

He was paid $$$ to lock down that side, he shouldn’t need help. That’s the whole point of paying big money to your Olineman. He’s supposed to be able to handle himself. Chaz Green didn’t get a second contract for a reason. Steele is not in that category. If we’re requesting he get help then a more serious conversation needs to be had about his performance overall.

It's the height of silliness to expect your RT, who has been beaten like a rented mule, especially in the last 5 minutes when he gave up two sacks already, to suddenly make a play in that spot.

That's just a mistake on the part of the coaching staff right there.

Said the same in another thread, why no chip blocks or TE staying in to help. This coaching staff is just like my heels coaching staff, NO in game adjustments whatsoever from either coaching staff.

I mean sure, in hindsight. Steele was fine on the rest of the drive though. You can't chip on every single play.
