Why no help for Steele at the end?

The defense isn't going to defend the TE 5 yards down the field in that situation, he's not going to pull a defender. They'll give you that completion and let the clock run.
wrong. the play to schoon was exactly you just described. Fergi pulling the defender, allowing schoon to go across and be open. that was the design

He was paid $$$ to lock down that side, he shouldn’t need help. That’s the whole point of paying big money to your Olineman. He’s supposed to be able to handle himself. Chaz Green didn’t get a second contract for a reason. Steele is not in that category. If we’re requesting he get help then a more serious conversation needs to be had about his performance overall.
dollars at that moment in the game are irrelevant to what should and needed to be done. he struggled all game. a blind man could see that, yet they chose to leave him on an island, knowing he hadn't made a single stop on the pass rush all game. that's on the coaches. all these $ stuff, contract stuff is for off season. once games start, then you do what needs to be done to win the game, you are not considering the contract dollars in your decision making. if any coach does that, then they should be fired

So since they left him out to dry McCarthy needs to go?
