or Smith at LT, Bass at LG and Guyton at RT?maybe?
Steele's 2025 salary fully guaranteed in March. I think we're more likely to see Bass replacing Martin next year, but I definitely wouldn't mind seeing what Smith-Richards-Beebe-Bass-Guyton looks like. Steele has never been a great pass protector, but seems to be having more trouble with it since his injury.

Edoga can’t hold up . He’s shown that over 2 seasons . Get an injury settlement with him move on .

To me other then center LT is the important position to protect the right handed ( most QB ) .
I never understood the fascination Dallas had making Tyler Smith a guard . He proved he can handle LT his rookie yr. Having said that you invested a # 1 in Guyton when he’s healthy get him back out there . Until then Tyler Smith is your best option .

And yes get rid of the zone blocking scheme for straight forward power blocking Dallas had success with in the past .
That’s easy, Collinsworth even mentioned it during Sunday night’s game and it’s the same reasoning going back to Zach Martin. Same reason they kept moving Larry Allen back to guard.
You can have a very good tackle or an elite 1st team all pro gaurd.

When Guyton went out with an injury, I thought Richards would be his direct replacement. I'm not sure why we instead moved Smith to LT. I guess we don't like Richards as much there as we like Bass at guard.
I thought the same thing. Everytime we have seen Richards play he has been solid at LT

I don't think Richards is viewed as an LT. I think they wanted to go with experience

Kind of telling when they mostly played Asim Richards at Left Guard during training camp and preseason. Bryan Broaddus mentioned back during preseason that he questioned the same thing about why Asim Richards was not being played at Left Tackle? He said someone from the higher ups told him they saw Richards strictly as a Left Guard... but refused to explain why.
I think that was alot of peoples opinion when he came out. I think some changed when he had a good preseason playing OT. Personally I dont know that he is an NFL LT, but RT I definitely think could be a possibility

And yet they brought in Bass to play left guard.

I saw Richards play some LT in preseason. He looked okay to me. Of course that's not the same as facing NFL starting DEs. I still think Richards is going to be a solid player. But remember, too, when Martin went down for a few plays, the brought in Brock Hoffman to replace him. That must mean Richards is behind both of those guys. I wonder who plays RT if Steele gets hurt.

That’s interesting….to the untrained eye as a unit they looked good.
Yeah. I agree. I dont have the time or interest to watch film of OL play so I rely on a group of folks who do so. The consensus was he had rough game. It was surprising because his individual performance while watching the game live didnt seem to affect the ability to move the ball.

My take Guyton at tackle at the moment isn’t the best and with his issues with his technique moving him to the right doesn’t help Steele and pass protection can also be an event Steele has guess anticipate to much to make up for his footwork bass had a bad game mentally so let have a week taking starter reps on practice and see how that goes Richard’s is my wild card and would like to see him compete with bass. The move to more man blocking v zone also helped

T. Smith bass/tichards beebe Martin Steele

I’d rather see Hoffman at OG that dude has a nastiness to his game.

they practice this stuff if people get hurt and they had a plan to do this had it been IN GAME..coaches know the why and why not and that by far good enough.,,.even with Martin out and Hoffman in that Line looked better , best Lineup yet.. now with plan had Guyton been out long term maybe they work in Richards..

for me, id keep that lineup but if steele struggles early against the lions pull him insert Guyton at RT..its about the best 5 not developing players..

Which is concerning since most of the film watchers are saying Bass really struggled when he came in.
well go find those videos and show us because if not i saw the best lineup we had all year even when martin went out for five plays i thought hoffman did a good job...
.
that said ill let the coaches figure it out... they are the only ones that count when deciding who's playing and who's not

besides the fact maybe bass settle down. i just turned the game back on right now with 330 minutes to go in the 3rd, while we're all driving. Ill watch Bass closer....
