Why not Cole Beasley?

I don’t dislike Cole Beasley but honestly he’s one of the most overrated former Cowboys out there.
Agreed. People were like "uhh your letting him walk" when his final season here you could argue he was only the 8th best player on offense.

By the next off-season the cowboys had already built a roster that had 3 wide outs better than him.

Yeah bridge is well burnt. His 2018 mid season stuff was absolute garbage for a professional athlete (cowboys where making a late season playoff push and all he did during the week was argue with fans online and rant about how "i'm going to the highest bidder, i'm the best #3 in the game"). It's like he had absolutely no situational awareness, it's like dude shut up and talk about the playoffs, stop talking about leaving.

He then tried to pull this fake narrative of "oh I left to pursue a real culture of results and winning" when he went to a team with that had one winning season in the last 5 years and had made the playoffs like twice in twenty years

guys overrated, on the tail end of his career and athleticism and already at a physical disadvantage.

he’s a loudmouth who sh%% on the only team that ever gave him a shot on his way out the door, and his wife sucks too lol. naw

Is it just the anti-vax position or did he burn a bridge here? He still is a walking first down on 3rd and 6. And would free up CeeDee and Gallup outside. Thoughts?
why not wait on this

A lot of options post draft, post june 1st cuts leading up to the regular season game 1 if needed these guys, most will be availabale ..dont need to go reaching now for vet until we see how the rest of the roster is filled out over the next few months,

im still not sure of the kneejerk reaction our WR core is bad and somehow, we are desperate for wr .. Lamb and Gallup ARE good 1-2 punch, added Washington, we have other young guys like Semi, Vasher and other plus the draft coming..

there's no rush or need to pull a parachute on this Core.

I rather add vet TE that can block and catch over a WR..

He's old, slow, and he has mouthed dak and the team.

no, because he burned bridges after he left. he is now done and crashing fast. no one is signing him. he is a very limited WR and once you figure him out and things he can/can not do, he is easy to neutralize.

Beasley burned a whole lot of bridges, but I think he was more anti-Garrett than anti-Cowboys. Either way I don't see Beasley as any more than a short-term solution and a potential progress stopper. Like bringing Witten back a couple years ago this team needs to stop living in the past on players like this.

Like Dez, he was right about Garrett.

Is he still married to that gem of a wife that likes to tweet?…….

But that was because of possibly not being available to play. That's not an issue anymore.

Well that should have factored in with Cooper. There is no threat of Cooper missing games now because he was un-vaxxed. But Jerry still held that against him. So I suspect Jerry wants no part of guys he views as selfish. Throw in the pot shots Beasley took on the way out and I am guessing he's not on the Cowboys Christmas card list.

I am not saying it's right or wrong. But this is how Jerry operates. Plus, Beasley isn't all that good anyway so we are wasting our breaths wondering if we should being him back.

That’s a hard no for me. Because:
  • Beasley has averaged 38 yards a game for his entire career. Avg 31.6 yards per game in Dallas.
  • He has 34 TDs in 10 seasons. That’s 3.4 per season.
  • There are plenty of NFL FAs (or rookies for that matter) that can avg that kind of production for a lot less cash.
  • Beasley turns 33 in 3 weeks.

I dont believe the Cowboys fans overrating him nearly as much as the the Bills FO did…..dont recall many tears being shed here.

Coles biggest problem is between the ears.

Agreed. Not to mention he's longer in the tooth and didn't Jerruh get rid of their WR1 because he decided not to get vaxxed?

I don't see it happening.
no Jerry got rid of cooper for all the above his 20-22 miol 3 yr deal and his 800yards and handful of Tds and his disappearing acts in big games and road games and well hes no longer our wr1 anyway Lamb was last season.

schultz had good numbers and if Gallup stays upright his YPC catch and his passion like dez for the game and going after challenged balls in tight space says it was time to move AC with his cap savings. makes total sense. Was the 2 game absence the straw that broke the relationship, maybe but that not the only WHY.

all things considered it was the correct move.
