Why not Cole Beasley?

Cole averaged 53 yards per game with Bills, BH.
The 38 ypg is for the overall career -brought down because his first 7 seasons with the Cowboys was 31.6.
Last 3 seasons with Buffalo - 67, 82, 82 receptions, 10.6 yds per catch average. 11 TDs over that span.
By no means advocating a return to Dallas-- just stating a bit more accuracy about his production with Buffalo.
NFL likely is over -- unless Beasley still wants to play for a vet minimum offer, then battles
rookies in a training camp for a roster spot.

Beasley can play a key role on a good team, like he did in BUF. Chain moving underneath slot receiver. We don’t have that (I guess Schultz serves a role like that, but he’s a TE)… Not saying he should supplant top WRs, but with Gallup out first few games, he could step right in. Unlike a rookie WR… Unless we pick up a vet WR and LG, we tie our hands in the draft. Not how to run a roster/draft.

why would you even think he would be interested in this dumpster fire and weak quarterback.? hum

Is it just the anti-vax position or did he burn a bridge here? He still is a walking first down on 3rd and 6. And would free up CeeDee and Gallup outside. Thoughts?

he burned a bridge, also he makes the offense more predictable. Pollard and the TEs can run all the routes he ran when he was here. 5 yard option route with 10 yard runs to the sideline.

He burned his bridge when he should have been smarter and taken the high road. The NFL is a small fraternity... be smarter. I have no issue at all with not taking the jab. In fact, I applaud him. Stupid to inject anything into your body that is experimental.

Jerry is rumored to not be a fan of the anti-vax crowd. He wasn’t happy with Cooper.
Jerry wants his highly paid slaves to get the vax, but doubt he did himself.

and I dont think jones boys like the bease, so he aint coming back.

There will be plenty of receivers in the upcoming draft to outperform whatever Beasley has to offer.

Other than that, he burned his bridges with his toxic comments last year. He's not worth the hassle.

Beasley is a scrub...no thanks. He's a loser with a loser mentality. Whines too much.

Boss man Fat said ain't room for 2 rappers on the squad.
Also his wife takes to social media to defend Cole. That would be purposefully bringing in another Tad. We definitely don't need another Tad.

That’s a hard no for me. Because:
  • Beasley has averaged 38 yards a game for his entire career. Avg 31.6 yards per game in Dallas.
  • He has 34 TDs in 10 seasons. That’s 3.4 per season.
  • There are plenty of NFL FAs (or rookies for that matter) that can avg that kind of production for a lot less cash.
  • Beasley turns 33 in 3 weeks.
I don’t dislike Cole Beasley but honestly he’s one of the most overrated former Cowboys out there.

That's some stat spinning there. Unsurprisingly, an undrafted free agent got few opportunities and produced little in his early year, making his career average pretty low.

In the last 3 years with Buffalo, he started over half the games and averaged over 800 yards a season. Was actually 2nd Team All Pro from AP in 2020. 9ypt. That's good stuff. Last year was a big drop off. Maybe his talent dropped off as well, maybe they just phased out an older and more expensive player for youth. I don't know.

Beasley was a high quality vet and may still be. He isn't a good fit for our base offense. Doesn't block and doesn't stretch the field. But on clear passing downs, he *might* still be a quality possession receiver to move the chains. Maybe *very* high quality. And Beasley had his 2nd best season in 2016 with Dak when he led the team in receiving yardage, so there is plenty of chemistry there.

Having said all that, Beasley would be a better fit elsewhere, so I doubt he has any interest in coming here. Should be on a pass first team with a veteran QB who can make decisions as fast as Beasley can cut. That's not Dak.

He's a dimunitive slot receiver who's way over the hill. Watch how much better the Bills become this season funneling the ball into the hands of McKenzie, Knox, Diggs and Davis.

He is a short possession receiver, that is all he has been. He has gotten more volume in Buffalo but is sitting at his career YPC avg.
