Why Not Give Cooper Rush a Chance Next Year?

Dak has fooled people into thinking throwing for a decent amount of yards makes you an elite quarterback. It doesn't. He can't read a defense. He's gotten worse as his career has gone on. He was awful against the Commanders (we had a chance still at #1 seed if Eagles had lost so it was important) 6 points, 49ers 12 points. He threw pick 6s against teams such as the Texans who are the worst in the league. But yet people come to his defense. Great players don't need people to come to their defense. Do you think there's a debate going on about Mahomes or his backup? How about Joe Burrow? Nobody would even dare suggest it. Dak has outplayed his draft spot 4th round, but he's not great QB. A blind man can see that now.

This is the Dallas Cowboys we're talking about here. We the fans deserve a first echelon QB. It's been to long now...

He's not as bad as some make him out to be. He surely wasn't as bad as I thought he was coming into the season. The way I see it, you can load up with a fresh RB, a new, OL, WR, and maybe TE, and he can drive the bus.

Do you think Cooper Rush is capable of running San Francisco's offense?

With the right players around him, Cooper Rush is probably the best option we have right now, in my opinion.

If Rush started against San Fran, do we win?

I think so...
I totally agree with you but I can give you 40 (plus) million reasons why as well as something called a "No trade" clause until the contract expires... Then we just pray Jerry doesn't renew.... One can only hope,,,

Rush did his job here and it helped immensely that the defense played out of their minds when he started. Dump on Dak all you want, but the Cowboys would have struggled to win eight or nine games with Rush with the way the defense started to collapse at midseason. The Cowboys scored a grand total of nine touchdowns offensively in Rush's five starts. That would not have gotten them much further.
Does it not seem curious to you that the defense suddenly began to struggle when Dak came back?
Two interceptions a game will do that to a defense.

The only way I see this happening is if he accepts a cheap contract. And a true competition is given. I don't think Rush has a strong enough arm to be looked as more then a stop gap. With that said, give they guy a full season (we've given Dak 7 so why not) and see if he can do it. I don't think at this point he's worse then Prescott and he proved that this year.

People forget we protected Rush with a great running game and the defense forced a lot of turnovers and got a lot of sacks during that time. Do you forget that we couldn't run the ball at all vs the 49ers? Pollard getting hurt early left us with the terrible Zeke Elliott. It would of been the Eagles game all over again. As tough as the 49ers D is I don't think Rush would of been any better. Yes he won us games to keep us in playoffs hopes but come on.

We just need to add better weapons on offense. I mean out of the Eagles, 49ers, Bengals and Chiefs we have the worst offensive weapons as a whole. The Eagles may have the most talent on offense.
49ers has more offensive weapons then we do especially when we lost Pollard. Kittle > >>> Schultz, Ceedee Lamb >= Deebo, CMac > Pollard >>>>> my grandma running through mud > Zeke. Then we have the WR2... Michael Gallup was invisible as he was most of the year. Don't get me started on Noah Brown and a late addition of TY Hilton.

SF averaged around 3.5 YPC. That doesn't happen w/o Hankins. We need a talented young NT to start the process of training him. And not another stiff like Bohanon.

Well said.

Doesn't matter if he is the answer or not. With nearly 50 million guaranteed going to Dak next year there is no way you are paying another QB. Look they can't afford to give Rush 8million to be a backup at this point. The only way dak will sit on the sidelines while wearing a cowboys uniform is when he is hurt.

Moore with Rush would get the team out to a lead and then play conservative. To act like he can't throw a more aggressive game plan with time hasn't been proven. He threw for 341 yards against the Vikings last year including making all the deeper intermediate throws Dak throws, while finding Amari. And they didn't have the benefit of any TOs by the defense that game.

That being said, Rush doesn't have the consistent arm strength to be a top tier QB. Dak is simply not the QB, but going with Rush is a positive as it signals the end of the Dakota experiement.

Stephen A Smith next contract will be unbelievable.... it's so easy when you have a Cowboy "fans"

Cooper Rush couldn't win a starting job in 6 Training Camps, 6 OTAs, 6 QB Schools but the Dak Haters say the decision is Football Related that Cooper Rush would have been better against 49ers No.1 Defense

Emotional Dak Haters:muttley::flagwave:

Why not? We know what we have with Dak and it isn't good. Dak looks good in scrimmages and practice but put him a high stakes game against a team with a halfway decent defense and he folds like a cheap lawn chair.
