Sorry if this has been discussed, but I have been out a few weeks getting surgery and was hoping for some catch up conversation. With all of the Free Agent WR's out there on the horizon, I don't seem to see Stallworth getting any pubilicity. Seems that when healthy, he would be a pretty good compliment to TO. Could be the Hydrocodone talking though. Any opinions or updates on what I may have missed would be appreciated. :)

I would consider him in the 2nd tier of FA WR but as you said I think he would be a compliment to TO. Now is he a FA?

yea he is injury prone.

He has play 6 years and still has yet to reach 1000 yards receiving.

No thanks.

I would be very happy if we sign Our guys and Stallworth instead of let one of our guys go(Hamlin or Adams) and get a player like Roy. I love how Stallworth runs after the catch and he has blazing speed. Perfect player to stretch the field and takes them screen passes for 10 yards

Yeah he can do all that if he's not hurt. You can only count on him playing maybe 10 games a year.

He managed 16 games last season. I would not pay top dollar for Stallworth but at a lower rate than what the top WR are getting and yes I think he would be a very good compliment to TO

At what price? He may be a good addition if he is not too expensive, but he would not be my first choice. Like Dooms said, he is a second tier FA. Explore other options and if nothing pans out, then maybe look at him. Just don't spend too much doing it. He disappeared in the AFC championship and Superbowl.

I could be wrong but I don't think he played all 16 games. I know he missed some games. It might have been preseason though.

I heard the Bears cut WR Mushin Muhammad. is Stallworth a better option than Muhammad?

you just said so yourself. he is hardly ever healthy. i would sign him for a performance based contract, but he ain't getting a half way decent signing bonus.

I would give him 1.5 milly a year plus incentives. He did finish the year 4th on the Pats depth chart and the W.R pool is supposta be big this year. I cant see him asking for much more.

Thing is everyone expect top notch players at every position but teams can't afford to do that. I know Fitzgerald is a very good WR but he would come at a very high price. I think when talking about filling the #2 spot I think you want to find a guy who is a good compliment to your #1 WR. If would be great to get all pros at every position but I don’t think that is do able over the long haul. I think the Pats did the right thing is getting Moss and going out and looking for quality bargain players like Welker and Stallworth

Respectfully I must say that the only reason Stallworth doesn't have an endorsement as a Butterfinger spokesman is because he can't hold on to the product for the duration of a commercial shoot.:D

I like Muhammad, I think he had a rough season this past year but then Chicago had some QB issues that did not help matters. Muhammad was big for Chicago during their SB run a couple of years ago and prior to that Muhammad played very well for the panthers in helping them get to the SB

A couple of younger guys are DJ Hackett of Seattle, who has good speed, and J Gage of Tenn.

Personally, I'd take a look at Hackett if we weren't going to get a top tier WR in FA (R Williams).

He was never considered a burner and at this point in the career i cant see him being any better than Crayton. We need someone with speed to stretch the field,IMHO.

Muhammed is 34. He has no business being a cowboy. Period.
