Let's try this one more time................

No Teams esp after this draft QB rich Draft is willing to give INEPTO PRESCOTT the money he wants.
How many teams after this draft will need Dak and truly believe he is worth 50+ million a year?
ZERO or they would have traded him already!
And how do you know this? Stop assuming.

Flip side of the coin he tears his ACL then he's definitely done in Dallas.

There will still be some desperate bad mug teams in for him but he would be damaged goods resulting in a significant discount.
They signed him with a worse injury than a ACL, you forget Jerry likes hurt broken and damaged players

I’m all for moving on from Dak and accept that it will involve some pain. What I am confused about is why wouldn’t they Cowboys trade him? they could’ve picked up someone like Fields for the cheap to get us through the season while having more draft ammunition.
Maybe because of the contract that GM Jethro signed that stipulates that he can not be traded.

Does that answer the Question?

Dak has a no trade clause, if you haven’t been following along and would have to wave it to be traded. Teams might be leery trading for him after what happened to Denver with Wilson. The trade for DeSean Watson hasn’t worked out for Cleveland so far. Someone would have to cough up multiple premium picks and have to be willing to pay him $50+million. Plus trading Dak would send a message that the team is pretty much giving up on the 2024 season.

They really did get fleeced with that contract. From Dak's perspective, why agree to a trade when you can ball out for one year and get the big contract with a team of your choosing? Free agency=more money, more choice.

He really does have the Joneses in a corner.
If Dak agrees to a trade, he
  • Makes a lot more *this* year than the 29mil he is still due in salary
  • Advances the clock on his next signing bonus.
  • Doesn't risk injury in a contract year.
  • Doesn't have to play behind a depleted offense this year.
"Ball out" with Tyron, Biadasz, Pollard, Gallup gone so far? With no free agent money to replace them, and a late draft position to replenish the team?

Good luck with that.

Don't worry about it.....We will finish in 3rd place. Dak and McCarthy will be gone. And we will be back in the Quincy Carter-Drew Henson era...without Parcells....Can't wait!!!!!

It's a bigger give up to trot out Lame Duck Dak and a depleted team to inevitable failure.

At least if we move on now, we can feel like the rebuild is starting to move forward.

I enjoyed Jimmy's first year with 1 win a lot. Young guys getting better and trying hard, instead of old guys getting worse, phoning it in, and making business decisions.

Dak having a "no-trade" clause in his contract makes trading him rather impossible. The Jones family is not inclined to trade Dak so there is that as well. What we the fans want doesn't matter.

We don't even believe he's worth that much lol why would they
Some GM on the hot seat and w/o a QB can buy himself another year by mortgaging his team's future on Dak.

Dak is not horrible. He had great gross regular season numbers, and the ankle looks recovered. Even the people down on Dak here knows he can win games, they just don't think he's going to win them in the playoffs.

Cowboys fans are more demanding than many fans. We're tired of losing in the playoffs. Other fans just want to make it to the playoffs.

It would be borderline crazy to move on now when he still has a year left on his deal. That would leave everyone scratching their head. Moving on now would send a message to the entire fanbase and team that we’re not looking to compete for a championship in 2024. Before training camp arrives we would look like we’re mailing it in. We would be left without a proven QB. Jerry would look like an even bigger idiot to some letting his QB go with all the other starters we’ve lost. That could fracture the lockerroom.

This is a business and you can’t enter a season looking like you’re not in it to win. That could get some of your better players to want to move on. It could keep free agents next year from wanting to come here. Fans might stop showing up for games. Tearing down a 12-4 team that’s coming off a division title wouldn’t make any sense. It made sense in 1989 tearing down a crappy 3-13 team. Some of you may enjoy watching the Cowboys lose and struggle through a bad season but I don’t.

Exactly..............too many posters on here spend their day playing Madden.

This aint Madden, its real life and nobody trades their probowl QB coming off three consecutive 12 win seasons.

That is the definition of "give up" and Jerry has to have the team relevant and in playoff contention to keep the money train rolling, after all, that is what is most important around here.

Posters thinking Jerry is going to nuke the roster and watch the team win 3 games, LOL, yeah right.

Thread after thread after thread after thread about wanting Dak gone. Dak isn't going anywhere, nor should he, especially if he works out a friendly extension with the Cowboys. Why not get this realization through your thick and stubborn cabezas?

Dak doesn't want to leave this depleted team in a contract year?

Maybe doesn't want to, but it could cost him big in his next contract.
Dak will be paid many millions of dollars to play quarterback in the NFL in 2025 and beyond. He’s going to do only what he wants to. And there is absolutely nothing Jerry Jones can do about it. Nothing his teammates can do about it. And there’s nothing Cowboys fans can do about it. The man is not going to waive his NTC. He’ll consider waving his middle finger at ungrateful Cowboys fans next March when he’s leaving town. He knows exactly where he is professionally. And there ain’t no pride when you’re stuck inside a slowly sinking ship.

Why doesn't Dak trade Jeruh?

Because he can't.

But with this QB draft class, and most competing teams set, who's likely to part with prospects and salary for one year of Dak....when they aren't competing (and there's still question marks over his play-off performances)?
There will be posturing (from both sides) for the next couple of months and then in the midst of pre-season there will be a dramatic extension announcement.
