The defenders seem to fall with their full weight on Romo.. ribs, back, shoulder etc..he can't take those blows he's shown that. They need to keep Romo up right and stop blowing coverage.

E-Lie has a collection of these. Look at his Super Bowl wins.

It's easy to say it's time to draft the next Romo or his successor, but frankly, it's a very difficult thing to do in the NFL unless you have a top five pick. I'm guessing we move from Romo to a veteran free agent if we have a strong team.

Eli Manning just toss the ball up for grabs anytime a defender gets near him.............unfortunately, his jump balls are usually caught by his WRs.

I swear, I have never seen a QB just chuck balls downfield with his freaking eyes closed and his WRs bail him out with circus catches.

Clavicalitis?

I suspect in this most recent instance you had 3 things at play:
-Romo was trying to reach to scoop up the ball
-Right then a 300 pound lands on him
-The defender did seem to put effort to drive him 6 feet under

On this one he seemed to look to fall on his shoulder. Maybe to protect his back? I'm not sure but I'd like him to not do it anymore.

..and I'm tired of him turning his back to absorb the blows. Not a good idea. Fetal positio better option.

He's old and getting older. He's brittle and getting brittler.

Peeps on CBZ think he can play out his contract.

Forrest Gump believes so too.

The "flailing" may be an accurate description but the execution of the two tackles were essentially the same.

I would love for Brady or Rodgers to get caught in a tackle involving similarly directed force. The sack opportunities are fewer due to their offenses executing faster more consistently though. Even so, tacklers do not tee-off on other name quarterbacks like they do Romo and others. For example, Hardy had an opportunity to tear into Brady during a sack where he had a clean shot at him. It was a solid tackle but Hardy didn't power through the tackle and use the ground to punish Brady. I guess that's respect.

And that is what happened to Romo. It happened before. It was unnecessary roughness or unsportsmanlike but Romo doesn't get a lot of calls.

It also happens to be the most commonly broken bone in the body.

I recall a conversation on You Tube where Bill Parcels is warning Romo not to get cute with the ball, if its not there, throw it away.

Parcells then begins to remind Romo of his small fragile frame and how DE's would love to make a little "snack" out of him.

Agree. He looks like him pancaked him with the intent to land all of his weight on top of him
