Why Roy isn't like Colston?

The actual answer...

Is because Tony doesn't trust him to go up and make a play like Brees does Colston.

Maybe Tony would trust Roy more if Roy would actually make some catches that Colston does.

The real question is why does Roy not make catches like Colston??? Is it lack of motivation, is it not knowing the play, is it running poor routes, or is it just a case of not having enough balls???

I dont know. What I do know is Colston >>>>>> Roy and it is not even close.

It sucks and I wish it was different, but it is what it is guys.

What the hell are you talk about??? What is redundant in what I said???

A greater than or less than sign only indicates absolute values and does not indicate anything about the degree of the values.

5 > 3 .....only 2 difference.

1,000,000 > 3 ........999,997 difference

The first could be described as a "small" difference while the second could be described as "not even close".

This stuff is usually covered in Jr. High stats class.

I never saw him at Permian, but at UT, with the Lions, and now with the Cowboys, Roy has never been an acrobatic WR.

Coltson, ever since I first saw him at the East/West Shrine game, has made acrobatic catch after acrobatic catch.

They just have two different styles of play.

From what I have seen, Dez Bryant plays a lot like Colston.

Dez Bryant is 10x more explosive than Colston.

And Roy is athletic. He can make catches that nobody else on our team can make.

The dude isnt playing well, but everyone knows the ability that he has. We saw it in Detroit. He's just not consistant.

I never said that Roy wasnt athletic. I said that he has never been one for acrobatic catches.

Bryant is more explosive than Colston, TRUE....but I wasnt comparing that. I was comparing their acrobatic nature of playing WR.

Give me one catch that he has made this year than none of our other WRs can make.

The most acrobatic catch I can think of this year was Miles Austin jumping up over the corner on a sideline go route in Kansas City. No way in hell Roy Williams makes that catch.

RW will never be as good as Colston. Sorry.

i agree.Brees trusts his receivers to make the play and he will throw it up there even if gets picked off once in a while.

They are both big WR that can go up to get the ball. Neither are speedsters. Why can't Roy play like Colston? Why isn't Romo throwing high and away balls for him to go get ?

Roy can be a great weapon if he and Romo can play like Brees and Colston.
You mean he's not?!?!?

Roy is just not as big and strong as Colston. imo Roy is faster than Colston, in Detroit Roy occasionally got downfield separation but you never see that from Colston, who sometimes looks like Shaq out there he's so strong.

None this year or last year. Guys, Roy Williams over the years was a highlight reel himself. As for as acrobatic catches, how about the one over Aaron Glenn a few years ago against us. Or the one hand catch over the middle of the field against the Commanders a 2 years ago.

For whatever reason, Roy has regressed. Not sure why. But he has flim in this leauge as being a big play guy.

I think Jon Kitna would disagree with you. I would say this, RW will never be as good as Colston until he and Romo and Red get on the same page. Will that ever happen. I'm not sure. RW has more tools that Colston. Colston today has more production than RW. Also, Bress is a better QB than Romo. Bress gets the most out of Colston. Plus Payton is better than Red at play calling and allowing Colston to do what he does best. Colston is better today than RW bc the system in NO is better than Dallas. Brees and Payton are a heck of a combination. Colston benefits from that. Not sure RW has that in Dallas.

FYI, on that TD to Colston, no seperation. Brees put the ball where Colston could make a play. Romo rarely gets the ball to RW where he can make a play.

How many times has Tony thrown him a jump ball when he's covered. There is only one that I can think of.

"You see Roy’s talent in practice. He makes catches that nobody makes. We believe in our quarterback and we certainly believe in Roy Williams. It’ll come."

I agree with this and think it will happen. Like everyone else I want to see it happen soon but I think Romo and Roy will get it together.

Better happen soon before Jerry starts to lobby for Ogletree for the other starting spot.:D
