Why Roy isn't like Colston?

Better happen soon before Jerry starts to lobby for Ogletree for the other starting spot.:D

Jerry signed Roy to a long contract he is not going anywhere’s. RW and Romo will continue to work and as I have said before I think hard work pays off in the end.

Not running the same routes.

Nothing to do with routes. Colston is just a better receiver, the way they play is completely different.

You see. They come from different "My baby's daddy" yet they are "brothers from other mothers".

Clear as mud. It's all in the science, man.

RW will never be as good as Colston. Sorry.

Agreed Sarge.

Roy Williams is a good player but I don't believe he is as good as Colston.

It doesn't matter anyway. As long as Tony Romo continues to play at a high level, the Cowboys will win.

I think it DOES matter actually....we can win 10 games w/out much production from RW, but advance in the playoffs? NO: he HAS to step up.....i'm really hoping he does obviously but man...I just don't know....

Depends on what "production" means.

Does production mean catching 11 Balls and 1 TD a game?

I don't think Roy Williams has to put up #1 Receiver numbers for us to make a deep Playoff Run.

The key to this team is the Tony Romo, the Offensive Line and the Defense.

Too many teams in the past have won Championships with average to above average receivers for me to believe we absolutely have to have one.

Roy Williams just needs to continue having a positive attitude, blocking and trying to make plays when afforded the opportunity.

They are both big WR that can go up to get the ball. Neither are speedsters. Why can't Roy play like Colston? Why isn't Romo throwing high and away balls for him to go get ?

Roy can be a great weapon if he and Romo can play like Brees and Colston.

Colston is basically better at very aspect than Roy....not by a ton, but when you add it all up he is a much better player. Colston does get better separation as well--and speed is only one part of many that is required to do that.

I do agree that the routes that they are asking Roy to run are not one where he has had his best success in the past. Colston is rarely sked to run short stop and start routes. They have him going usually 15-20 and deeper...but that Saints passing game is more sophisicated than what we are doing.

I agree. If Roy just does his part, keeps his head up, and puts up decent #2 WR numbers (50-60 ypg and 3-5 catches) and the other guys keep rolling, the passing game should be fine.

This is like expecting all 5' 9,'' 216 lb running backs to perform like Emmitt.

That's just not true.

Roy has produced before on the PRO level. It's not just a fantasy to get him to produce.

I am more worried about him and Romo not being on the same page AND that leads to INTs. That's what will kill us more than anything else.

That's kind of a stretch bbgun.

The OP brought up Roy's physical dimensions, not me. The notion that you have to succeed just because you're tall, or because someone who resembles you is successful, is silly.

Through their first four seasons in the league:

Colston:
74 yard per game
.63 TDs per game
Drew Brees as QB

Williams:
66 yards per game
.51 TDs per game
Joey Harrington and Jon Kitna as QB

It's not like their production was that much different at this point in both player's careers.

lol, you're being a little selective in the numbers your choosing and how your presenting them not to mention throwing in the QB's, which is completely qualitative without introducing any other qualitative data.

I'd take those number the rest of the way this year.
