Ok since we are talking about kaepernick, is it true that he said he would stand for the flag once he became a Free agent

He said his protest brought about much needed attention to his cause and that now people were more aware, he no longer needed to protest.

There's probably a slightly higher chance we sign Colin Kaepernik over Colin Cowherd as backup qb

It's going to be interesting though. There was an article out a couple weeks ago where one GM said Kap has pretty much been "black-balled" from the NFL and he didn't think ANY GM would touch him. I guess we'll see, but with quite a few QB needy teams out there there's apparently been no bites.....

The ws running these teams are going to make sure he doesn't play again. And you know this lame Garrett would never pick him up.

If Kap were that good, someone would take a chance on him. The problem is, he's just not that good.....

The big story is this year's NFL free agent market is where Tony Romo will end up. Since the Houston Texans showed their hand by basically paying to give Brock Osweiler to the Cleveland Browns, the Dallas Cowboys have been sitting on their hands. They want the Texans to bite on a trade and take Romo's cap, using the Denver Broncos' possible interest in Romo against Houston.

But there's a few QBs available. Romo is clearly the most desired. But there's another one teams should consider. What? Jay Cutler? You should be ashamed of yourself for suggesting that. I'm talking about Colin Kaepernick.

Both Kaep and Romo have their risks. Romo is a huge injury risk, playing in just five games over the last two seasons. But if he's healthy and placed on a team, like Denver or Houston, who loaded with talent on both sides of the ball, then Romo is immediately in Super Bowl talks.

He's good enough to play in this league. If he was a good ol boy who kept his mouth shut and just worried about football there'd be no question someone would at least let him hold a clipboard. But he got a lil too uppity

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they give him the starting QB spot last year and he couldn't play well enough to keep it? He's had his chances. A change of scenery would probably do him good, but I just don't see any takers. Denver was interested in him before his protests, since then all we've heard are crickets.....

You're gonna get flamed for this post, but at least one person agrees, and that person is me. A lot of people hate Kaep because of his political antics. Keep in mind, the sitting for the anthem thing is likely over this season. Judging based on football ability alone, Kaep is certainly qualified to be a backup QB. I like Mark Sanchez as a human being, but not as a backup quarterback. Kaep would be a gigantic upgrade over him, and over Kellen Moore, Jameil Showers, other recents like Weeden and Cassel. Tell me Kaep isn't better than all those guys. You can't. The only recent backup QB I'd rather have over Kaep is Romo, and that's just not going to happen. So sign Kaep with the stipulation that he forfeits any money if he kneels for the anthem. If he needs a political voice, tell him to set up a web site.
