Why Terrance Williams is the Dallas Cowboys’ weakest offensive link
http://thelandryhat.com/2017/02/16/dallas-cowboys-terrance-williams-weakest-offensive-link/

The simple truth – when it comes to renewing the contracts of their own free agents, fans of the Dallas Cowboys are often blinded by “The Star”. It becomes a case of treason to discuss positions of players on the depth chart. When diehard, “real” true blue fans are asked to compare two NFL players, the one on our roster is immeasurably better. I might get in trouble by stating that wide receiver Terrance Williams must go.

Some would state that I’ve been critical of Williams during his time with the Cowboys, but facts are facts, except when they are alternative facts. After he was drafted, I reviewed his play at Baylor University. It was immediately apparent that Williams was a body catcher. I have never understood how an NFL receiver can be uncomfortable catching the football with his hands.

Completing a reception by trapping the football against his chest is beautiful when it works. Many incompletions have come from the football springing off his shoulder pads. It reduces his valuable “catch radius” to the area between his nipples...

Bottom line is Stephen and Jerry have already placed a dollar value on him. If he will sign for that value or less, he will be back. If he wants more, he will be gone. I would think the Jones' haven't placed his value in a way that will break the bank at all.

I'm neither a Williams fan nor a critic. I think the controversy centered around Terrence is one of affordability more than talent. He's quite likely to join some other team that values him contractually more than the Cowboys do as an available free agent. It seems to me that the author is more critical of his worth than what is justified. He may not be our best but he's equally as far from being our worst offensive link, imo.

Trade T Will and Romo to Cleveland for picks. :)
I know alot of people are not going to like this idea. I always believe it's the team first then players second. However romo would laugh then retire at jj. Romo would die in cleveland. Twill however would be a good fit for the ctown.

Forcing him to retire or play in Cleveland is doing him a favor. Hopefully he would choose to retire because he would get obliterated if he played. Retire Tony!

No longer a passing offense is probably a more fitting description. Throw at any receiver and he'll produce more. Hell, who knows how many guys are in the exact same position. Who knows how many guys don't even have a competent QB. He's not horrible, but he's not even close to being one of the top #2s in the NFL.
I disagree. As a number 2 reciever Williams is one of the better ones. After Dez, Witten, Beasley and the running backs only so many passes left.

What stats are you wanting from your number 2

WTH. Williams is a good, solid 2nd receiver. He has made many, many great catches for the club. Replacing him and his qualities would not be so easy or cheap. The grass is not always greener on the other side of the fense.

That blogger is clueless.

Williams is a solid player. He actually knows the scheme and runs routes the way the coaches want it done. His stats are decent for a #2 WR.

Fan-Bloggerw see a player make a mistake or two and that will be their entire basis for judging the player.

I'm not even a fan of TWill but I would like punch that blogger in the face just for being that stupid.

As a better WR he wouldn't have been behind Beasley or the RBs. This is just nonsensical. He can't be a #2 in Dallas because he's behind Beasley, but if he were a #2 he'd be one of the better #2 WRs in the NFL.

What I'm wanting from a #2 doesn't really matter if Terrance isn't a #2 because he is behind Beasley. The guy doesn't really add anything to the offense and I want players who do. What I really would like to see is a guy with elite speed line up out there. Probably not going to happen but since you asked, that's what I want.

Williams is a below average #2 and should be paid as such or replaced. That said, see What happens when you make a back handed remark about Super Tony TW? The Romoites come after you.

I've always said this.

Dude is a bum.

There are 2 members, who I won't call by name, they know who they are. Who went to war for this bum and told me I was just a hater.

Look at Williams now, I don't see them defending him anymore.

They also stated he was better than Dez :muttley:

The blogger lost me when he said, "That wasn’t an option when Kellen Moore became the quarterback and started throwing cruise missiles."

That's not true. Beasley led the team in recieving.......is he the best reciever on the team.......no he isn't.

I don't get the hate Williams gets. He is available every game and makes clutch plays when the ball comes his way. He doesn't drop the ball as he had 0 drops this season. He has the speed and has made huge plays for us. He is much better then yall give credit for.

I get it though when you guys dislike someone they are the worst players ever

I completely agree, Williams has been a good receiver for the team. While Dez was hurt he, Beasley and Whitten held it down winning three games. No one was complaining then, it seems whenever a player is DEVELOPED by this staff and fits the scheme if they aren't pro bowlers the fans turn in them. A few years ago OScan was hated, he worked hard and became a solid CB, a year hurt and once again the Dobermans have turned on him. Williams doesn't have to be all world and having two #1s means paying two #1s, I know everyone is saying solid #2 but what they mean is they want someone that can take over games, and we already are paying Dez so how many superstars does the offense need to win the Super Bowl.
