As incompetent as they may be, the Jones Boyz know one NFL truism: It's a lot easier to get worse at QB than to get better. Dak does just enough to keep the team "relevant" and the season interesting for fans, even if he isn't good enough to make a playoff run. They figure the status quo is better than the risk of wandering the QB desert again like they did after Aikman and before Romo.

So, they will stick with him until it becomes absolutely untenable to do so. The question then is will they have someone waiting or will they hope to get lucky again a la Romo? Until then, they will give Dak a few more weapons, maybe try to strengthen the defense some, but they won't blow things up as long as they are relevant late in the season.
You’ve got it….and one of the reasons I prefer a guy like Payton over MM is someone is going to have to find and develop the next QB. Maybe not yet, but reasonably soon.

One thing is for sure, Jerry is gonna need to give up doing things the ways he likes if he expects to attract any coach worth their salt.

He can’t do it forever, and at what point does he realize that something is very wrong with “his way?”

Like David Carr of the raiders, he has a no-trade contract, but the QB can be transferred if the QB wants to go to a team, as is the case from Carr, so Dak should do the same. At the end of the day Dallas is not going to win an SB while Dak is still on the team, it is better to start looking for another QB now, than in 2 years when Dak's contract ends,
Why should Dak want to leave? The owners love him and will stick with him. Name an organization that actually says they are a Dak away from a SB.....none say this. Does he have any ties to Carolina or NO? Maybe he can push his way there....trade him for Sean P.

If you have a QB that’s giving you a chance you have to stick with them until you can find a better option. We didn’t move on from Romo until Dak came along and proved he could win games and lead us to the playoffs. You can’t leave yourself without a viable QB or you’ll get worse. You have fans on this board that want to dump Dak and start looking for a new QB. You can’t do it that way. Lol The 49ers kept Jimmy G because Trey Lance hadn’t proven himself. They then drafted a QB, who it appears they may have struck gold with.
