I was with you blue until the word “research” was thrown out, lol.
Well a lot of you guys do more research and a lot more detailed in your layout of your post than some of us that's all I'm saying... So maybe a CCboy or somebody will go out and figure out how much more man in zone has been played in our three losses as opposed to last night you probably gonna find that Dan Quinn just doesn't like to run zone he likes Max pressure with playing man on the back end he's exposing his defense to games like this and we cannot have this against the better teams especially once we get in the playoffs so I hope he has some better game plans for down the road because that one last night needs to be thrown out when it comes to needing to be in games and playing smarter football trying to keep things more underneath and giving help to your corners not having them play man all game against three stud wide receivers like that... I mean I see Miami look like a lot of the same type of offense are coming and we're gonna be on grass on the road on a completely different coast that is not spelling positivity from my view. So whatever this game plan was last night he better not be bringing it to Miami or to Detroit weather Detroit games here but either way I'm really more worried about the Miami game than I am Buffalo or the Eagles because of the matchup issues we're gonna see they're very much like the Seattle offense.. Detroit and MIA both have offenses like this.

It was indeed an awesome win. And we actually did it in Eagles fashion. As great as everyone thinks that they are they’ve been using this same script for a month. Keep it close and win at the end. Our D played the worst game of the year, but they made three stops in the 4th to secure the victory.

It was almost a mirror image of Philly/Buffalo. Two desperate teams playing their butts off to keep playoff hopes alive only for the better team to win it late.
Well said sir. I was thinking all night how much this game reminded me of the Filly-Buffalo game last week. The egirls didn’t play their best game but found a way.

It's nice to get a win where the team has to work for it and great point about the offense stepping up for the defense. Seattle was a desperate team last night and needed that win, probably more than Dallas. Plus beating the disgustingly slimy Pete Carroll is always a bonus.
That guy seems to spend half the game complaining to the officials, and the other half chewing 17 pieces of gum at a time.

Didn't see the game cuz I'm at a convention in Chicago, but it looked like an impressive win. Sidenote, I'm having a great time at the convention. It's been great, and I've had fun with my friends here. I'm here till Monday.
From the old fan forum. I followed your entire career from school to business. You’ve done well, my cowboy brother.

I don’t care what anyone says, last night’s win over the ‘hawks was the best win of the season…so far. Next week should top that, but I’m getting ahead of myself.

For everyone who thinks margin of victory matters at all in the NFL, last night’s win against a good Sea team is a perfect example of the silliness of that notion. This isn’t college football where resumes are based on how bad you beat someone and how good you looked doing it. In the NFL, W’s and Ls are always the bottom line. 9-3 is very impressive.

Here are the reasons why last night’s game was the best win of the season so far:
  • Despite the defense not playing well, the team found a way to win through the offense. The offense carried us last night. That’s what good teams do on a night one side of the ball isn’t playing its best.
  • Has anyone noticed that the almighty egirls struggled against a 6-5 bills team last week and we all were impressed that they were able to come back and win that? We played that script last night too.
  • Anyone remember what the theme was around here about 8 weeks ago? This offense was not moving the ball that well. Look now.
    • Offense is no longer sluggish in the red zone. (except for the stupid delay of game penalty!)
    • This team just set an NFL record by scoring 40 or more in 4 consecutive home games.
    • Since the debacle at SF, Dak has thrown 21 TDs with only 2 picks.
  • We just won our 14th straight at home.
  • Seattle is a good team. Three weeks ago they were 6-3. Injuries have hurt them a lot but they played their guts out last night. We beat a good team. A team that if the season ended today is in the playoffs.
This team showed some guts last night. I was glad to see them get punched hard but still be able to punch back and win. Good teams find a way. That could have easily been a trap game.

This team still needs to improve a lot. The stupid penalties are driving me crazy. I’m beginning to think McCarthy just doesn’t work enough on improving that because those pre-snap and offsides penalties are just stupid.

Now it‘s on to the eagles. Let’s gooooooooooo!
Great post. Agree to all of the above.

Another thread mentioned the continuing penaltiy problem as well.
And on top of that I'll add that I lack confidence in McCarthy's in game decision making and basic coaching situational awareness.

He consistently annoys me with the most fundamental coaching mistakes in real time.
Hope it doesn't cost us when it really counts later on.

Yes it's pretty obvious games are week to week are about matchups... I think that we match up better say against Buffalo than we are against Miami and Detroit with those games I could see happening just like this because they could be wide open offenses with multiple weapons at wide receiver and running back that can come out of the backfield yet both those teams don't have great defenses either so is this game because of the lack of rest in the three games in 12 days or is it stubborn Dan Quinn won't get out of man and he wants to have such a great pass rush that he's leaving our dudes hanging out on an island back there against some really good receivers that are not supposed to be covered man to man one-on-one not almost every down.... Just like when you try to cover amari Cooper Dez Bryant Michael Irvin or CD lamb one-on-one all game that's when they have their big games when you go man on our team you get lit up how is Dan Quinn not see this at some games you need to change your defensive game plans to match your opponent not be so stubborn that you think you're just gonna being aggressive pass rushing team that plays man on the back end and that you'll just deal with the results....

We can get away with this stuff against teams with lesser defenses because our offense can hang with them but when you come up against 49ers and the Eagles they have they have the defenses and the offenses you can't do this crap against them so let's hope that with the 10 days rest and the game plan that we have some extra time to come up with that's gotta be a little different than the other Eagles game you can't come in with the same game plan even though you're gonna be at home and let's hope the 49ers beat the Eagles and this is setting up to be what we hoped it would be we end up beating the Eagles and end up tie for the division regardless of tiebreakers I don't care about all that but just record to record we'll end up both being 10 and three and then the end of the season is gonna be crazy,,

but anybody who hasn't noticed this has been Dan Quinn I do not want him as our next head coach he is not that impressive yes his defenses can drive most teams crazy but if a team can slow our offense at all if they can play defense, you can't play reckless man to man all game and leave your quarterbacks hanging out to dry....
I see the defensive tendency to attack the Dallas defense. Both San Francisco and Philadelphia have strong as well as aggressive offensive lines. Here, there has to be hits upon their quarterbacks. More of a game changer by the Cowboys pressure...and forcing throws some. Bland had a much stronger second half against Seattle. Dan Quinn has to ensure Bland is closer to a shut down corner and not a make you pay presence.

My most concern on the Dallas offensive window is the right tackle position. Steele has to start out the game without penalties and maintaining contact with good left side defensive ends. Don't make McCarthy have to take weapons off the field to protect the right side of the offensive formation. The offense can keep the Cowboys on even keel with both San Francisco and Philadelphia. As long as penalties don't keep up overturning significant plays.

The defense still remains adaptive...I'll at least give them the benefit of doubts, myself.

I still have faith in standing toe to toe and delivering a knock out punch. From the heels...football and opponent directed.

its not a trend...it happens

they were never going to play 17 great games....
Giving up third down after third down through the air against good offenses is absolutely a trend. Philly and SF were both 50% or better, and Philly converted on 4th downs too. The Commanders were 7-15.

The third-down defense is terrible because they just sit in man. It's painfully easy to defeat.

Well done Hazey. Yes they are best team we have beat this far. But with their schedule ( SF, Phi and Pitt left) could easily end up below .500 and out of the playoffs.

My biggest concerns from last night are still the penalties but maybe even more are McCarthy’s questionable decisions which there were several.

Going for it on 4th down after Bland interception when we should have taken 3. We were moving the ball well ( don’t think we ever punted) no reason to give up points there which would have given us the lead .

Not going for 2 when we could have tied it up. Mikes analytics drive me frikin crazy. It’s going to cost us eventually.

And giving up a penalty which would have made it 3rd and long which Seattle converted.

Also, the Eagles are beat up and are facing a very physical 49ers team this week and will have to follow that up against a rested Cowboy team on the road.

Spot on.
And again a time mis management gaffe on not running on 3rd and 3 when the clock and opponent timeout consideration should have been the primary concern.

And these are all basic in game coaching scenarios that I continue to shake my head at with McCarthys decisions.

Ima let you slide because this team has given you nothing in return thus far into your life, but…

As into this as you are, I have no idea how you can miss games and be ok with it. I suppose people have priorities, I even told my parents to check the Cowboys schedule before trying to die.

It’s going to cost us in bigger games down the road. We overcame last night. But wow.

His decisions are truly questionable . We definitely gave away 3 points and the lead on that one possession after interception. WTH??
