Why was Jaylon Smith being taken off the field?

Does anyone know? I know they did this vs the dolphins but I figured that was just because they’re bad but I saw it plenty of times last night also. What gives?

Are you sure we didn't just go to dime?

Who was in when Jaylon was out?

Smith has been rushing more often. That means he needs more rest. Smith is playing fine.

There was a discussion on a Dallas radio station two weeks ago that suggests Jaylon cannot make the cut back to his right after he is moving left. The comments were that he cannot push off his left foot without taking a hop step to get his right foot under him.

It was also noted that the league has figured this out, and runners are setting him up by going to his left and making the cut to beat him.

I have no opinion either way. Just tossing this out there as perhaps a reason why he is getting taken off the field. Which makes no sense to me.

I made and posted 3 videos of Jaylon in the Miami game where he appeared to over-run plays.

I can't see a physical issue as discussed on sports talk radio.

The.primary issue is that he just comes in too fast and a player his size is just not going to stop instantly and turn on a dime like some of those barely 230 pounds type LBs.

Jaylon does appear to have gained weight.

Even last year he was not a match for Vander Esch athletically and we saw that in camp this year.

This season they often play a 3-man on obvious passing downs with Jaylon replacing the 4th DL. LB Thomas and Vander Esch are often in the game behind him.

I actually thought jaylon played his best game last night. More instinctive and moving better

LVE on the other hand missed a boat load of tackles...

not to mention he had the would be game saving sack

Jaylon had an amazing game, you would think by reading this board they scored like 4 TDS on the D.

I thought their position was subjective when they were making it.

I think the coaches are noticing the flaws that he has in his game and getting him off the field in those obvious situations.

Dude turns like a sail boat. He can fly sideline to sideline or straight forward but when he has to flip his hips it's like Bradie James out there.
You mean former team captain who had a great career here Bradie James?

Bradie was good.. He was just an old school linebacker and not really a flip your hips and run type.

Once teams started spreading everyone out and getting pass happy a player like him was just a bit of a weakness on the field.

Probably because he’s a liability in space which is really what pass coverage requires. They are rushing him more which is more to his skill set.
