I don't dislike either team, and we if can't win it I'd just assume one them do it.

Still, I'll pulling for the Saints....just won't be bummed if the Colts win (and I suspect they will).

At least their fans are loyal. I only knew one Cardinals fan before last year. Now everyone loves them and has always been a fan.

Yeah, right.

The Saints do have a large contingent of loyal fans. They are indeed the best of fans because they support their team, win or lose. I can only imagine what it would feel like to exist 33 years and then have the 1st playoff victory in franchise history. Many in this forum were on the brink of losing it this year should we have gone another year into a playoff drought.

However, it seems that Saints fans have just come out of the woodwork this year. I get into conversations with some of the bandwagon jumpers, and am amazed with their lack of knowledge of the current players and the history of the Saints. I have no problems with new fans that will remain loyal for years and years to come. It is the ones that will stuff their jerseys back in their closets this time next week, should the Saints lose, that truly bother me.

Many of them can't name but 2 or 3 starters on the team. I dunno, I remember becoming a Cowboys fan in the 2nd grade, nearly 30 years ago, and I think I had the roster memorized by the 1st game I watched, and that was before Al Gore invented the internet.

That's kinda the way I feel, too. However, there's part of me that wants NO to win just because they're underdogs.

Me too, and also because they've never won it and Indy just did. I feel like every team deserves to win it at least once in their existence as long as they make a legit effort.

Sorry no can do. Im just sick of Saints being called Americas Team and it will only get a bazillion times worse if they win.

get er done Peyton!

Don't worry about that...

The media is always going to hang that tag on their own home town team as it draws attention to themselves as writers...

America votes on "America's Team" every year in the form of polls and NFL team merchandise sales. Dallas wins almost every year (including the last 5)... regardless of their record.

Doesn’t matter who anyone roots for. The Colts are going to blow out the Saints. Won’t be a game by halftime.

If the Colts blow out the Saints they'll do it in the second half, same as they've done for most of the season. There's no reason to believe the Saints can't come out and score some points early on the Colts.

I got nothing against the Colts, but how can you not root for an NFC champion that didn't come out of the East and who knocked out MIN after they ran up the score on us and has so many ties to the Cowboys?
Geaux Saints.

Me too. I admire excellence. And this whole "you gotta root for the Saints because of Katrina" garbage is really pathetic. I didn't witness a whole new wave of Yankee fans after 9/11.

Interesting you would mention that. Prior to the Super Bowl between New England and St. Louis (which was played following 9/11), Howie Long remarked, how can you root against a team called the Patriots this year?

The networks used 9/11 as a rallying cry for the Patriots, not any New York team.

Like you, I'm no fan of the sympathy card.

If you have Saints fans as friends screaming "WHO DAT?" all the freaking time. It makes it easy to root against the Aints. I'm gonna love to see thier faces when I show up at the SB party with a Colts jersey on. :eek:hboy:

I would not diss those bandwagon people for not knowing Saints history after saying in your post that they just had their 1st playoff victory this season.
Better brush up on your Saints history.

However, I will agree on several of your points. The real Saints fans are as loyal as they get. They packed that dome for many years when the teams were not too good---even though they always seemed to beat us. And yes, there are thousands (100s of thousands?) who now claim to be Saints fans that are really just going along for the ride.

That's an important exception to the rule. If you've got friends in your immediate circle being ***** about the Saints being there and the Cowboys not, then by all means, you should root for the Colts to spite them.

Yeah, I also own a Falcons, Dolphins, Browns, Ravens, Titans, Chargers, Broncos, Longhorns, and I own (10) Cowboys jerseys too.

I will never own an EaGIRLZ, giANTS, Foreskins, PatCHEATS, or the 69ERS. Maybe that will make you feel better. :D

But don't get it twisted my gameroom is painted Blue and Silver decorated in Cowboys and Mavs a little bit of Rangers.

I am rooting for Peyton Manning to win.

For one thing ..... I like Peyton.

For another ..... it will put even more pressure on his brother.

For the final ....... F the saints ..... I hate those bandwagon jumping fans and that overconfident team and that entire piece of trash city.

Are you serious with this??

It's football. It's an emotional and physical battle that pushes player's to the limit every week, and these guys get paid millions of dollars to do their job and if they cant do it right, they should be told off.

Peyton's got a job to do and as long as It gets done, it doesnt matter how family friendly he is about it. Blame NFL Films for putting mics on the players and coaches and always having a camera in their face during game time. When he's playing the game, Peyton doesnt have to censor himself for anybody.

Yep, serious as a heart attack. Peyton isn't stupid, he knows enough about the system that he's miked and he's even said as much in interviews AND appologized for it after the fact. Also, I'm not at all saying he's not one of the best all time QB to play the game, he is. It's just when you have young people looking up to you, you are put on a pedestal whether you want to or should be or not.

I said 33 years until their 1st playoff victory, which meant the 2000 season when they beat the Rams in the WC round in the dome.

I know my Saints history.
