Why Weeden bashing?

Not throwing more than 5 yards down field hurt us, no matter how you put it. We couldn't sustain long drives as a direct result of it. Was he bad? No, but he wasn't good enough to keep our offense on the field which killed our defense.

All he is capable of are screens and RB dump offs. He did that effectively today. Aside from the INT, it's hard to say he played a bad game.

But your offense becomes extremely limited if you don't trust your QB to throw it more than 5-10 yards. If that's the case, don't start him. Find someone else.

I thought that was obvious since I stated as much in my first post. You just would like me to take it personally but I didn't just felt like commenting on your apparent need for attention. I always say it when people start like countless threads on the same subject in a short amount of time. Its nothing personal just want to know what else it could be that has people do this that's all because I see no point in doing it. Its not personal just an online thing I disagree with and comment on when I see on any site I'm on. No more no less.

Dude threw a pick. That's it. Did WAY more than I thought he would. This defense is AWFUL without playmakers. Sean Lee being out was instantly a TD drive and Church getting juked by Ryan was when I knew the game was over. When we get Gregory, Hardy and RoMc back, they'll be nasty. Weeden, not the problem. If all you want your QB to do is be "check down Charlie"..............then pretty much any QB will do. The problem is that Atlanta realized at halftime that we have no vertical passing game and started taking away the checkdowns and underneath routes. Once they did that, our offense was dead in the water. We had like 30 yards offense for the entire 2nd half by the mid 4th quarter.

Seriously, this looked like a high school offense the second half, that is why the Atlanta players were laughing when they were walking off the field in the 4th quarter.

Weeden is a solid bus driver, but when the game gets gritty, he melts down. The problem with Weeden is if you shut down the dinks and dunks, then there's nothing he can do. We were looking excellent the first half because Weeden was checking it down, and we were getting huge yardage after the catch. Weeden isn't at fault for this loss, but he's a liability going forward if teams figure out to take away the check downs and do what they can to limit the running game.

Weeden is a one trick pony.............the king of the check down...........you take that away and your offense is dead in the water.

I am just surprised it took Atlanta till halftime to actually figure this out.

How many throws has Romo had that have been more that 15 yards in the air? Not many. These wideouts simply can't get separation.

I just think its a collaborative effort. The defense was on the field too long......Weeden didn't really give our receivers much of a chance to make plays.....receivers don't get much seperation...offensive line.....for whatever reason just couldn't duplicate their success in the 2nd half. Just a terrible display of football in the 2nd half.

Tom Brady and the Pats seem to make a decent living with underneath routes. There's this mis conception that quarterbacks throw it deep all game. They don't. I mean look at the Falcons. Everything was nearly underneath to Julio and Freeman. The difference between them and us is our Julio Jones is on the bench.
