Why Weeden bashing?

Dude threw a pick. That's it. Did WAY more than I thought he would. This defense is AWFUL without playmakers. Sean Lee being out was instantly a TD drive and Church getting juked by Ryan was when I knew the game was over. When we get Gregory, Hardy and RoMc back, they'll be nasty. Weeden, not the problem. If you thought so, I guess you didn't see the game.

not one pass completed to a WR, except for Beasley. two brain faarts during the game. and he is a veteran.

These are the same clowns that blamed Romo for the Cowboys over the last 10 years. It seems whenever we lose, some people simply dont have the football knowledge to do anything but blame the QB. Probably didnt even watch the game and saw the pick highlight.

Agreed. Could Weeden have played better? Yeah. Did he make a costly mistake? Sure. I was giving the dude a 3 interception curve going INTO the game. Check downs weren't a problem for me. TWill can't catch, so why would you go deep to a guy that's a number 2 when it's not there? Defense was mangled, but you still can't allow 39.

I was curious as to where Weeden's 22 of 26 ranked in Cowboys history. It's interesting to see the other games on this list were far and away better team results, including Tony's ridiculous performance against the Bills 4 years ago.

Because he is not Romo and he can"t bring you from behind. He did not play terrible but one of the big differences between good QB's and bad ones are the passes completed to the WR's. How many did Weeden complete to a WR yesterday?

I get it man. There's a huge fall off. He's a backup. I'd rather have Romo too. But we got Weeden. He moved the ball and scored points. Had a really bad pick he threw. It is what it is. But if our defense steps up yesterday we win. You can't give up 39 points.

Oh, I agree, he was not the reason we lost for sure. His brain fart at the end had no bearing on the outcome of the game. When you get used to a QB bringing you back from behind all the time (28 times since 2006), you find it easy to complain about anything less. I think with Romo we win that game even with a poor Defensive performance because he gets at least 1 or 2 drives in the second half. I though our D would play better and a performance like that from Weeden would win us the game but I was wrong. I hope the D can do better because I think that was the best we get from Weeden.

This is the perfect summation of the entire discussion. One guy brings us back with a last second TD throw that no other QB could do without their #1 WR. DON'T even compare his backup to him.

I agree fact is there are few QB currently playing who can do what Romo can do. Anyone expecting Weeden to do as Romo has is crazy. Weeden can do the job but it was going to take a full team effort. Weeden will not carry us, nor will Cassel or Moore.

Weeden sucks but our defense sucked way more today. Our defense was down right pathetic.

The entire team sucked in the second half.

So we're clear - the play at the end wasn't a "brain fart". Weeden knew exactly what he was doing when he took that slide. It was a calculated business decision by a guy who knows his days of drawing NFL paychecks are numbered.

"Weeden can do the job"? Based on what? What have you seen from him since he got here to make you believe this?

No, Weeden was a big problem. The offense needed to control the clock to keep a short handed defense off the field but didn't. They couldn't run in the 2nd half because Weeden would not or could not throw past 10 yards which allowed their defense to load up against the run.

I will agree that the Cowboys had a chance to win which was more than I expected.

Weeden is a solid bus driver, but when the game gets gritty, he melts down. The problem with Weeden is if you shut down the dinks and dunks, then there's nothing he can do. We were looking excellent the first half because Weeden was checking it down, and we were getting huge yardage after the catch. Weeden isn't at fault for this loss, but he's a liability going forward if teams figure out to take away the check downs and do what they can to limit the running game.

If the bus drivers goes 5 mph the entire trip, school will be over before the kids get there.

I watched the game and I did see Weeden was scared to death of failing or being hit and checked down more than look for open receiver. He also could have run for a first down but slid down behind the line of scrimmage when hearing foot steps. I say Weeden deserves all the crap he is getting. Next man up!

Other then the INT which was bad but Dallas did go down and score again after that, the biggest play in my opinion was the failure to get the first down on 3rd and one.

I like Randle but he is NOT a short yardage back, how the coaching staff doesnt see it is beyond me.

Weeden played a perfect first half with the exception of the interception. Now, I don't know whose fault it is the coaches or Weedens but I do know the coaches should have known (hopefully) that Atlanta would adjust to the short underneath routes by our RB's and stack the line and dare Weeden to beat them. Was Weeden too scared to throw the deep ball or was it even in our game plan? I dont know but a deep here and there would have kept them honest.

Hhahahaahaha, you guys are hilarious. He didn't play AMAZING, but he played fine. Julio was on a bum hamstring and the D couldn't do ANYTHING. Awful.

People do forget that Julio wasn't 100% and still put up 165 yards on us. And he was double teamed on a fair amount of the plays.

Weeden led offense = 10 minutes TOP in second half

Maybe...

...Because most did not think he would be a quality back up QB to begin with.
... He has a strong arm but is now a Captain Check Down QB
...He is afraid to go deep because of accuracy and turn over issues
...He had the game last week but between him and defense in the 2nd half they could not do anything
...He makes bone headed decisions like running the ball towards the end of the game instead of throwing it away to stop the clock
...He is not Tony Romo or a backup QB that people liked to start with.
...He is goofy looking
...He hates America

One or more of those should suffice as to why some cowboys fans bash him.
