unless the cash is insane. Owens won't pick a team in the NFC East. I think he wants to go to a team that is much closer to getting over. Like a Denver, Atlanta, or Seattle.

Ahh dude, I think we're very close to getting over also...

Hos,

Where was this? If anything the comments that have come out and those that have been reported as being private didn't throw cold water on it at all.
When the national guys like Peter King and Mort and then the locals like Norm and Fisher ALL say they think he ends up in Dallas and then Jerry goes on the radio and basically admits it's a real possibility, something is going on.

I'm not touting T.O. to Dallas, I'm just saying that because everyone hates him doesn't change what all the reporters are hearing behind the scenes.

Jerry can't come out and say we want him, it's tampering.

Jerry is a media *****, he loves the attention. With Parcells running the team the media has no real inside info, and Jerry is not going around spilling the beans about what is going on behind the scenes.

TO has no impact on the team this year, it is not inside info...because saying we want him would cost us draft picks for tampering...it is a chance for Jerry to get some face time and the media is eating it up.

The national media hates us and Owens destroying our re-birth is something they'd love to see. Jim Rome said exactly that recently.

Just when is the last time King, Mort or Gazoo hit on their inside dish about the Cowboys?

It's smoke...see the dry ice machine...but there sure as hell ain't any fire.

There is no sense in us debating about it back and forth here at the end of November. It's just a waste of all of our time.

A lot can happen between now and the start of the off-season, but let's check back with each other in March when T.O. is released. I believe there is a very real chance we sign him, you do not. We shall see who is right.

At least I have prepared myself for it, but a lot of you guys who hate T.O. will be looking for a bridge somewhere to jump off. :)

Exactly. Even if there were studs like Braylon Edwards, Mike Williams, or Troy Williamson around, I probably wouldn't look there way. Even with those players you are STILL taking a gamble, because they could turn out to be bust. So, my way of thinking is, if you are going to gamble, you might as well gamble on someone that has proven to be a game breaking threat and is one of the top 3 talented receivers in the NFL, instead of gambling on an unproven rookie that toasted collegiate CBs and may have just benefited from a gifted QB.

you wanna gamble on TO's attitude then? I don't think Parcells would, because he has no history with TO, like another poster pointed out, Parcells knew how to handle Key, and Key has great respect for Parcells, so all the schlit Key pulled in Tampa, disappeared once he re-united with Parcells, looking at TO's history, he has had no respect for ANY of his coaches, thus making the working relationship between him and every team he's been on, very difficult.

Parcells is rejuvenated by all the rookies he's brought in, because young guys are easy to mold, while TO is set in his ways, so Parcells may not want to have to deal with trying to get him on the same page, which was the "sweeping changes" Parcells spoke of, and which he got going, bringing in moldable rookies, and veterans he was comfortable with, and a veteran one of his coaches was comfortable with, Parcells wants to win now, as well as set up the team for the future, trying to get TO on the same page, ever heard of the phrase, "you can't teach an old dog, new tricks"? isn't conducive to winning now, and giving the 32 year old TO, the contract length and monetary compensation he wants, isn't conducive to the future either...

so in a word,

IT AINT HAPPENING!

IMO of course

How is it unfair?

If Owens was great from the get go, would he be the 2nd option? I could argue that having Rice should really help his numbers. Throw in the fact he had two very good QBs throwing him the ball in SF.

Boldin and Fitzgerald are teammates, so that has got to hurt their production, no? Jeff Blake, Josh McNown, Kurt Warner or Steve Young?

Williams is part of a trio of first round picks, plus Harrington or Young?

The point is, Owens now is of no long term use to us, while a young WR could very well become a TO-like talent that can help us for 10 years.

Personally, I'd much rather take the risk of the unknown of a draft pick, than walk the road with the Devil for a one year chance to maybe win a SB.

What team has Owens won a SB with again?

How many teams could not wait to get his butt out of town?

I'd call those odds for from a sure thing.

*insert hammer emoticon*

I think he would like to be in Dallas. One reason is he sees this team as a playoff contender and soon to be Super Bowl contender. He would also love to get to face the Eagles 2 times a year.

the same rhyme and reason he spat once he joined the Eagles, even before he joined them, and look at them now, and him for that matter, he didn't accomplish his goal of getting the Eagles to the Super Bowl, and he's on his way out of town

It was an article posted here the day of his hearing. Jerry would have been open to it. Parcells was not so sure. I hope he remains not so sure.

I would have second thoughts on signing T.O. because of his age, not his behavior. He's 33yrs, he's getting up there. T.O. has been through alot and I'm sure he doesn't want to go through all that turmoil again. He won't be trouble for his next team....

So it just took him 33 years of acting like a fool to finally get it? Yeah, right he'll be a good boy for the next victi...er, team.

Thanks for the laugh.

Our problems are the OL. It is limiting our game and making us conservative. It's not the receivers who are probably a lot more frustrated than we are.

You cannot throw the ball in any shape or form to anyone when you are knee deep in alligators. Bledsoe can throw the ball when given time.

If you put 9 people in the box with two inexperienced OTs you have to keep RBs in for protection and put TEs by the OTs. It's a circular problem with no solution until the OL does its job.

and when you have defenders hanging off your back, like Bledsoe did for much of the game, it's hard to lead your receivers, and when you're rushed, it's hard to set up in the perfect throwing motion to do that too...
