College quarterbacks aren't asked to read anything and almost never take snaps under center.

They are completely unprepared to play in the NFL.

And NFL defensive coordinators are catching up to the college offenses being
Right

And why throwing these young and often highly drafted Rookie QB’s directly into the fire is limiting and often stymieing their development .

It’s such a waste of potentially great talent because of immediate need.

Any given Sunday does have relevance. This Cowboys team looks different than anything I have seen in a long time. They play with extreme prejudice toward their opponent. Imagine how good they will be at full strength? I think they take a step back in Phoenix, only because they are playing on grass and it could throw their timing off. Cowboys by 20.

the margin for error is razor thin in the NFL due to the talent level of every team. Thats why every game is the same.

The major difference in Cap era is these young mostly high drafted QB’s are needed to start immediately which hinders or eliminates the benefit of developing them as was done in prior eras.

Some thrown into the fire , especially if they are on a decent team , can have some success out of the gate. But most struggle early which is limiting the amount of great QB’s.
Add to it that these QBs aren’t playing 4 years in college before entering the NFL. Teams are having to make long-term decisions way before there’s sufficient information to do so.

THIS^ Then all it takes is 1 or 2 key injuries to change the trajectory and momentum. Thats why what we did in the 90's was so unique and special. Much has to go right to win several rings, let alone, just 1. Heck, look at Tom Brady and the patriots with BB and the run they had. What has BB and new England done since Brady left?

As the old adage goes, "Any Given Sunday". Definitely holds true in the NFL. You just never know! Luckily for Dallas I believe we finally have a good coaching staff in place that helps keep this team grounded.

While I generally agree, these days you kind of can.

The quarterbacking is at an all time low in this league. I mean, more than half of the starters in this league absolutely suck and will never get an ounce better.
I totally disagree. Nothing has changed these days. The NFL is still in any given Sunday league and if you don’t show up ready to play you’ll get beat regardless who you’re playing and who the QB is. There’s not a lot that separates the good teams from the bad teams. The quarterbacking is still real good, which is why the top two MVP candidates last season were QBs and their teams were in the Super Bowl. To say half the starting QBs in the league suck is laughable! I’ve seen fans claim Joe Burrow sucks because he’s gotten off to a bad start. Some were saying Josh Allen isn’t any good because of his season opening performance. The problem early in the season is a lot of these QBs didn’t play during the preseason or didn’t get many snaps and have gotten off to bad starts.

Look at the past two drafts. Oh my gawd, these quarterbacks are dreadful.

There was a time when we had Aikman, Young, Moon, Kelly, Farve, Elway, Cunningham, Marino, Simms, Bledsoe, Montana, and Hostetler starting in the league at the same time. The next level was Buerlein, Krieg, O'Donnell, George, and Herbert.

Who do we have today? Mahomes and Burrow are the only gimmes. Then you've got flawed quarterbacks like Allen, Hurts, Cousins, Jackson, Tua, Lawrence, Goff, and maybe Geno and Dak. Rodgers and Stafford are set to fade away.

These recent quarterback draft classes are laughable.

The Arizona Cardinals are probably the worst team in the NFL. They have tons of injuries including QB Kyler Murray, All Pro S Budda Baker and their starting QB is Josh Dobbs, the former Tennessee Volunteer who has played for 8 different NFL teams in his career. It’s clear the Cards are tanking for the Caleb Williams lottery in next year’s draft.

But as bad as the Cards are - and they are really bad - Don’t forget that even a really good team like the Cowboys can take the opponent too lightly and get a bigger fight than expected.

Remember the Hou Texans game last year? We barely beat the second worst team in the league 27-23 and we were playing at home. Remember Texans QB Davis Mills somehow looked good for 3 qtrs and lame Texans WR Chris Moore had 10 receptions for 124 yards and a TD? We were lucky to win that game.

Or how about the 2021 game home loss vs a lousy eventual 7-10 broncos team? We were riding high and confident and they came into AT&T and curb stomped us 30-16, after leading us 30-0. It was humbling.

Last year the lowly broncos embarrassed the 49ers 11-10 in one of the ugliest NFL games ever. The chiefs lost to a horrible colts team last year 20-17…at Arrowhead!

Folks I’m not predicting a loss Sunday in Arizona. In fact I believe Dallas will win and should win easily. But this isn’t Georgia vs Directional State U. You cannot take ANY NFL team lightly. Ever. The Cowboys need to take every opponent seriously even if we as fans don’t.
Yep. One point I try to make is that no matter how comparatively "bad" an NFL team appears to be it is important to remember that they are comprised of the best players available in the world. They are world class athletes. They can beat you on any given day despite roster imbalances if they catch the right spark.

Yeah I hate games like this. It's like fighting a girl. You have nothing to win and everything to lose. (No offense intended to any of the resident mma girls, I'll tap out)

You’ve already come to a conclusion on the QBs taken this past April? Lol Anthony Richardson looks like he could be something special. All three of the top QBs taken this past April are starting. The QB position has gotten much more difficult since Aikman, Young, Moon and the rest of those QBs you mentioned played. Offenses revolved mostly around the running game. Aikman won three Super Bowls, despite having puny career passing numbers, because the Cowboys offense revolved around Emmitt Smith. In today’s game everything revolves around the QB, which is why they’re making so much money. Every QB has their flaws, no one is perfect. Joe Burrow has looked terrible the first two games. He missed most of training camp and doesn’t appear healthy.

The Cowboys shouldn’t take any team lightly. I however will not be playing in the game and this can laugh at the pitiful Cardinals all I want.

In all seriousness, bad teams with good QBs or good defenses can be dangerous. The Cardinals have neither. The only way this game is close is if they have a +2 or better TO margin, which is tough to envision with our defense and how much they turn teams over themselves.

The Cardinals are 0-2 after blowing a big lead last week and are desperate. This game could make or break their season. If they find a way to pull off the upset, it could turn them around. We simply can’t take them for granted. They’ll throw caution to the wind. They’re likely to try a fake punt and a flea flicker. I just hate these kind of games where everyone thinks the Cowboys are going to win big. I’ll be saying it until kick off on Sunday. We better show up ready to play.
