Robert Griffin III - QB - Player
Citing people with "intimate knowledge of what the Colts are thinking," Mike Wilbon of the Washington Post claims the Colts are seriously considering drafting Robert Griffin III over Andrew Luck with the No. 1 pick.
Wilbon is a sports columnist, so take this with an obvious grain of salt. "Some people that are having input into this pick, (believe) that RGIII is better in the pocket," Wilbon said Monday morning. "They have stats, they have analysis, they have information that says to them it’s Luck who is faster to leave the pocket and not be as good in the pocket. And RG3 is better in the pocket, he’s a better pocket passer, better arm. And that they are seriously still considering RG3." Wilbon's comments are especially notable because NFL Films guru Greg Cosell noticed the same tendencies on film. We don't expect Griffin to be drafted first, but certainly wouldn't rule it out, either.

wow, i would be shocked if i saw them take rg3 over luck. imo luck is the better qb.

Typical mediot stupidity

Irsay loves Luck. End of story

And the exact opposite has been said from many other supposed 'guru's'

So why would anyone with a brain think this numbnuts knows anything? Since clearly he does not understand how players are picked.

The GM and Coach pick them. No one else

Did Luck kill someone over the weekend?

That's about the only way I see this happening.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Colts took RG3 #1 overall. Both are talented enough to be drafted overall. but it all depends on what philosophy the team wants to go with. Obviously, Manning called the shots and managed the game the way he wanted to. With Luck or RG3, you might not have that luxury, so the OC will play a more prominant role. If the Colts think RG3 is better suited for their needs, then this could become a reality.

This reminds me of when Peyton Manning came out with that guy that just got busted.

guy that got busted better athlete. Rumors that Ryan Leaf would be the pick when everyone knew the pick was Manning

Wilbon is an idiot. I remember when he wrote an article in the Wash Post saying the Cowboys were not any good and overrated, blah, blah, blah, before the 93 season. Of course they went on to repeat.

What he says is about as valuable as what the kids in the daycare down the street say . . . . . . . . . .

Interesting disclaimer in the middle of that story.

That would be to funny since RG3 was already seen in the VA area signing autographs at a Commanders event!!!! hahahaha

I kind of hope the Colts do take RG3 in a way.

I think Luck is the more sure thing so I hope the Colts take him in that respect.

But, I think RG3 is more personable and I like the way the guy handles himself so it would be a shame to have to wish failure for him.

Maybe Washington will give up first round picks in 2015, 16, and 17 to move up :laugh1:

The event was scheduled before the skins even traded up.

Things that make you go hmm...

Skins fans will likely be disappointed if the Colts take RG3. This time last year, I think most would be ecstatic about the possibility of drafting Luck.... but now..not so much.
That being said, hearing Luck is negotiating contract with Colts. Likely 99% chance the Colts take Luck.

If the Skins had the #1 pick, they would take Rg3 over Luck.
Think Shanhans liked him since about mid-season - heard insiders talking about him before I even knew who he was.

If I have the #1 overall pick, of course I'm going to seriously consider several different players. I probably end up picking Luck, but of course I'd seriously consider other alternatives.
