Obviously all speculation at this point. I'm sure it would make a lot of fans happy!

ESPN's Jean-Jacques Taylor believes Cowboys S J.J. Wilcox is on the roster bubble.

Wilcox has started 29 games the last two seasons, but he has struggled in run defense and has just four interceptions over that span. With Byron Jones moving to safety full time, Wilcox's days in the starting lineup are over, and his spot on the roster could be in danger as well. He is scheduled to earn $1.66 million in the final year of his rookie deal.

J.J. WILCOX @ Homerun Derby (transcript via Mark Lane)

ARE YOU GOING TO REPEAT THIS YEAR? -- "I'm going to try to. It's kind of hard when everybody's on you and you have high expectations for you. So, you just have to be comfortable and find your groove and hope things go your way."

HOW MANY DID YOU GET RIGHT THERE? -- "I don't know. She stopped me at eight for a second. All I know is what I raise is for the kids and that's what it's all about."

HOW GOOD CAN THIS SECONDARY BE WITH MO & SCANDY BACK? -- "It'll be great. We have some more leadership coming in. We're kind of young right now when you look at the depth. So, it will be good, man. I'm excited for them. Orlando is looking good. Mo is looking good, better than ever. So, I'm excited to roll."

HOW DOES BYRON BEING A FULLTIME FS AFFECT YOU? -- "It doesn't. It's competition. It's the way the business goes. It's the way of the world. You have to go out and put your best foot down and maybe on film and every time the camera is on. So, like I said, there's competition all over the field, the strong safety spot, free safety spot. Still, you never know what might happen because of OTA's and camp. So, I'm going to do my best from the beginning from the start."

FROM 2015, WHAT DID YOU DO WELL, WHAT CAN BE IMPROVED? -- "I think I have to get better. Like I said, I'm still learning the position. This is my fifth year playing it. I've been playing offense all of my life. So, I think I have a lot of upside. So, I just have to keep learning the game, study hard on the film, just be more consistent in open-field tackling and being the best safety that I can be."

Heath is better. That's sad...

I am actually intrigued by the potential of a Heath, Church andWilcox...as poor as Wilcox has played, I think he might be better suited (from a development standpoint) to becoming a SS...less decisions to make. I think a 3-way competition opposite Jones would be a welcomed thing going into camp.

To be fair. Heath does have some athletic ability to him. 4.48 40 and he did look better last year when he got some playing time on defense

Can we please upgrade the SS position before the start of the season. Our biggest weakness IMO.

Cuz #42 is so much better…

As much criticism as Church catches, he is more sound than Wilcox is or probably will ever be.

He is still using the excuse "I have played offense all my life" after a combined four seasons at the position.

He has always looked like a RB they were forcing to play S. Time to cut the cord.

Church is significantly better
Church>Heath>Willcox
Willcox=UPS guy but then again my ups guy is about 6'1 235 w 5% bodyfat and runs a 4,4 40 w pads on
