Allen has been far too slow, these speed should help out.

I dunno, doing whats right for the good of the team. That supposed RKG spirit.

I think your being sarcastic - but not entirely sure.

But just to clarify...I dont think he should be happy about it and i dont blame him for not wanting to talk about it right away. I do expect that as long as he is earning a paycheck he will do what the team asks and be a good teamate by offereing whatever he can do to help the team - and that would be the right attitude, but if anyone is happy about losing their starting spot than i dont think they are competetive enough to be a RKG.

And this folks is the difference between the offense and defense. On defense they want the best players to play. On offense, the only way you see the bench is if you got hurt.

I don't think this is true at all. Who do you think is starting on offense who shouldn't be?

But seriously, he is a led footed journeyman who was brought for "experience". He has experience losing his job to better players. Did he really think he had a future here?

I think Allen was just a stop-gap from the beginning...I believe that the team expected/hoped Church to be paired with Matty-boy Johnson and Wilcox was going to be the back-up...but, MJ broke a nail and Wilcox has played well so far...Allen's time as a starter was numbered the second he signed his contract

Actually it makes me chuckle to see so many folks praising Wilcox now considering it was only 5 months ago the enormous amount of grief Jerry Jones and company took when we drafted him was almost overwheming.

His film didn't look like anything special to me. He proved me wrong while that bum Vacarro is exactly who I thought. People can bring up Rambo all day but I never wanted him in round 1. Only first round safety was Eric Reid and everyone on this board said Vacarro was better. A glorified slot corner who can't start at safety over Roman Harper. Ok

I dont know what he thought or what he was told. But he was starting... and now he's not. As fans we want the best player in the game. But as a player you want to play, and in addition this is his profession - think about going in to work tomorow and in the afternoon the boss tells you your getting a demotion because your not cutting it anymore. And immedeiately it becomes public knowledge.

Then people are cheering and excited for your replacement to get your job - what can you really say ?

We will have to wait and see how he handles it but im sure it stings at first. And im sure he wants to be out there with the team. This defense looks like they are a pretty tight knit group right now.

Now if only we could see some of Holloman in with the base defense

If only we had picked Bacarri Rambo instead of Wilcox like the messageboard scouts wanted, maybe we could be the ones allowing a 135.4 Quarterback Rating against for the season.

Or the midget Phillip Thomas lol...

What brilliant draft masterminds the Commanders are they said...

Pros and cons with this move. If he makes more plays than he messes up then ok. I love getting him the experience; just not at great cost.

In this scheme we need speed to cover ground in the zone coverages. It makes sense and in time when he begins to execute at a level trustworthy of the team we can be even more aggressive with Church playing up on the line.

If Allen is unhappy its almost certain he's gone. Maybe it's why we're looking at Nevis?

If JJ starts I'll be pleasantly surprised. I thought it would take half the year or more. Either JJ is learning fast and/or Allen is not doing his job.

Yes sir, make no bones about it Mr JJ Wilcox will get burned at some point, he is a rookie still learning the position. But this kid is exciting and only gonna get better.
Just hope the fans don't expect to much... to soon from Wilcox. He is still learning but has a huge upside .

....Didn't expect for him to take over so soon .....but lets let the beast out of the cage and see what he can.do.......Love the move....Wilcox will be a beast

I don't care who starts. They should rotate the DBs some IMO. And you never know when someone will start for someone dinged. I think you need 4 safeties who can cover and 5 CBs. That's difficult so I'd take 3 Ss and 4 CBs with a backup at each position to develop.

Kiffin himself has said that S in this defense does not need speed. Its all about angles.
