Wild Card chances still very real...

I expect parcells to cut Tucker and bench Pettiti.

We will go out with Larry Allen, Marco rivera, a new Center, new RT and a new LT.

So guys ... who do we draft with our first pick?

Who do we draft, or who does Parcells draft?

IF it were up to me, I would look at the BPA at one of these positions:

QB - At some point in the next year or two we HAVE to identify and/or acquire our QB of the future. Ideal timing would be to have him sit behind Bledsoe for a year before taking over.
WR - Need someone young who can scare a defense and along with Glenn can open up the middle of the field for Keyshawn, Crayton and Witten.
OT - No explanation needed and this is by all accounts THE draft for tackles.
OG - Probably no sense in using a mid-1st Rounder on a G so we probably wait until round 2 or 3.
LB - Need another passrusher from the outside and run stopper on the inside.

I think everyone thought we'd walk into D.C. and leave with a win. Nothing is certain with this team anymore... except ball control offense, a bend but not break defense (unitl yesterday)...

This is 2003 all over again. Even if we did make the playoffs, we'd go on the road and get embarassed just as we did 2 years ago. This team is not ready. Cant stop the run. Cant run the ball. Cant protect the passer. No poise whatsoever on the road. Are you serious????

After being taken to the woodshed yesterday by its arch rival, in a big game, it's clear that this Cowboys team is not a playoff team. If they somehow manage to back in to a playoff berth, I wouldnt like their chances at all with a road Wildcard game. No "one and done" for me, thank you very much. Weve seen that act before.....

Like I said in a previous thread:

I'm not sure I want the playoffs anymore. I've always wanted my team to make some noise when they got there, and I don't think we will. I've also wanted the team to start showing improvement at the end of the year, not slowly fade at the end when it matters.

Even if we get into the playoffs, our OL is so bad, so atrocious, they're letting the entire team down, as well as the entire fan base down. When you give up 7 sacks to a team that barely could rush anyone the past three games, you're pathetic. I know Drew is not Mr. Mobile, but I feel a little sorry for the guy. His front five (with the exception of Larry) blow chunks.

I really think yesterday should have demonstrated to everyone how this team is a pretender, not a contender.

These players are not ready to be winners yet.

Dallas will defeat Carolina and finish the season winning its last two games. Shake off what happened in emotionally charged New York and Washington for now-- those were charged divisional games.

Here's what I'm hoping happens, and it's not unrealistic.

- Either the Giants or Eagles will eliminate Washington.

- Atlanta beats Tampa Bay; Tampa finshes 10-6.

- Carolina beats Atlanta which they should be motivated to do to secure their division once we beat them ;). Atlanta finishes 9-7 with the Panthers winning the South at 11-5.

- Minnesota goes 1-1 to also finish 9-7.

TIE BREAKER WITH TAMPA:
1. Head-to-head. NO
2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference. TIE at 8-4.
3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four. TIE VS. Washington, Detroit, San Francisco, and Carolina BOTH Dallas and TB would be 3-2
4. Strength of victory (combined winning percentage of the opponents a team has beaten) According to my guesses:

TB will have beaten: Minnesota(9), Buffalo(5), Green Bay(3), Detroit(6), Miami(8), Washington(9), Atlanta(9), New Orleans (3 x2=6), and Carolina(11) = 66 wins

Dallas will have beaten: San Diego(10), Kansas City(9), New York(12), Carolina(11), Philadelphia (7x2=14), St Louis(5), Detroit(6), San Francisco (3), Arizona(4) = 84 wins

That puts Dallas at the 5 seed by strength of victory so the following tie-breakers don't matter.

5. Strength of schedule.
6. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
7. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
8. Best net points in conference games.
9. Best net points in all games.
10. Best net touchdowns in all games.
11. Coin toss.

Final Reg Season Standings
NYG: 12-4 (3 seed; East Champs)
Dallas: 10-6 (5 seed; 8-4 conference record)
Washington: 9-7

Chicago: 12-4 (2 seed; North Champs)
Minny: 9-7

Carolina: 11-5 (4 seed; South Champs)
Tampa Bay: 10-6 (6 seed; 8-4 conference record)

Seattle: 13-3 (1 seed; West Champs)

Wildcard
Dallas dials up Carolina's number again (OK, a reach but this is my fantasy so why not)
New York defeats Tampa Bay

Divisional
Dallas upsets Seattle (yeah, it's possible)
Chicago defeats New York

NFC Championship Game
Dallas AT Chicago-- hey, anything goes.
