Will Bobby Carpenter be traded?

I contend we put Carp in on goal line offense as an extra TE or at FB.:)

Look at my avatar, I am obviously rooting for this kid. Am I concerned? Yes. Have I given up on him? NO. I was half serious in my above post. If he has any talent for catching the ball he could prove to be the next Vraebel. If he did not shy away from contact every time I see him he might be viable at FB in goal line when we have Polite inactive, just to get him on the field and contributing.

Cry me a river. Do you wish that we dumped every slow developing player we have ever had? Aikman and Emmitt and Irvin would have been cut by your standards.

I believe you are just frustrated like many Cowboy fans. This is a potentially a dominate team and we have only shown glimpses of our potential. We will get better as will Carpenter.

Yeah let him get better somewhere else cause he only showed one good play and that was in the preseason against the Saints when he couldn't get the sack he chase the Quarterback out of bounds. He got ample of playing time in the preseason and couldn't even register one or atleast a half a sack.

Sad!. Now look at Manny Lawson. I don't feel as if Ware was a mistake. But this is the second time the Cowboys have made a misjudgement on a player that could contribute more to the team. I feel as if Ware is what Cowboys said he was going to be a player that gets better and better and they also mention that he might not contribute more than Merriman, but going to the fact about Bobby Carpenter over Manny Lawson. Everybody was saying that Manny Lawson is the down the road player and Bobby Carpenter was the more immediate player and they also mention that they are trying to get the more immediate impact player because they are trying to make a run at a championship this season. Oliver Hoyte is even better than Carpenter, I felt John Saldi is better than Carpenter too. If Carpenter was a undrafted free agent, he would've been cut.

Well to them now, they were dead wrong and it is showing every week.

Ok, lets say the Cowboys drafted Lawson. Do you think he would start? The Cowboys want Carpenter to play outside and inside LB. They put Ellis outside, and you bench Ellis they will have another distraction. Do you remember training camp? Also you have Burnett who I like. Carpenter will play next year, he will not be traded. I do think Ellis will be traded next year, and we will get more for him because he can play 2 positions.

I doubt that seriously. He's one of the Cowboys franchise players.

Alot of people develope agendas during draft season, instead of seeing things with an open heart. Not locking down on players because they read a couple of artilcles, or because some other hot head on the board said this is the one to draft.

I'll never forget putting up a post saying that I would draft Devin Hester in like the 3rd or 4th and got smashed on this board for that comment.

I still have high hopes for Carpenter, but at some point we need to see something. I don't care what it is, it has to be something. I want to see atleast 1 play out of him, just so that I can see him being something in our future.. Just 1 play.

I think the real issue might be how do we balance our apparent top--heavy talent at LB with other positions of need.

I'm open to trading Akin, Ellis, Burnett or Carpenter if we can get a talented O-lineman in return.

I'm not so worried about Carpenter's development as I am the depth we have once he does develop. I love depth, but in today's NFL it is usually at the expense of some other position like O-line for us.

Maybe Ellis is old enough that we should keep em all but you certainly need your first round picks on the field.

He has not being playing up to what a whole lot of his draft fans thought he would. Damn only if they could've had some common sense to get Manny Lawson.:bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

EVER?

Of course it's possible that he could be traded some time in his career.

NOW?

It's ridiculous that anyone would think trading him is possible now.

manny lawson would not be starting over ellis and he does'nt play special teams either, so had we took him he would'nt be playing either. as for trading carp, let me ask you, when was the last time a first round pick was traded in his first year?
not happening

Lay off RCF.

At least he isn't doing any more of his lame "caption this" posts which were based on the most boring pictures.

Despite your stupid signature, you make a lot of sense here.....we should have never drafted busty carpenter. I had the freak graded in my top 10 overall prospects....Lawson is a STUD and we will regret not taking him. :banghead: :bang2:

Trust me on this, I've been scouting prospects from the collegiate ranks from some time now and Lawson has something that Busty don't......RAW TALENT.

Even if The Freak doesn't win the defensive rookie of the year award, he has tremendous upside and potential and is going to help restore the 49ers franchise to greatness in the coming years.

I'll take David's analytical abilities to scout players over yours every day of the week and twice on Draft days.

An awful bold statement about an unproven rookie.

It's hard to give much weight to those who claim they can tell you with absolute certainty about things that are yet to be determined - know it alls aren't typically very credible.

Watching college football on your couch is not "scouting."
