Parcells has been in this league for years and you don't pull your starting QB with 14 years of experience after 4 games and a 2-2 record for a undrafted player that has no NFL experience and could possibly look 10x worse than Blesdoe.

On the surface this would appear to be an almost indisputable statement, but last year has to factor, and what Parcells sees in practice and on films does as well. And let's not forget that how strongly Parcells believes in Romo has to play a part.

The bottom line is that whatever the point is that Parcells feels that Bledsoe isn't getting the job done, the fact that he is a 14 year veteran can't matter. Parcells can't wait for a pattern of bad play to develop.

While actually replacing Bledsoe might be premature at this point, it is not premature to be watching the situation closely and to be ready to pull the trigger on a change.

The combination of how poorly Bledsoe has played and how strong Romo has shown up in preseason and in practice dictate that we can't be too far from seeing a change if Bledsoe doesn't pull it together for a string of several games.

Yeah we will lose the season if Romo is in. I know Romo will do worse than 3 INTs, 1 in our own end zone. I know Romo will take 7 sacks or more, fumble the ball to give them an easy score. Romo will do much worse than what Bledsoe did in Philthy and Jackedupsonville.

And you know this with absolute certainty how ......?

Come on, live in the real world.

Number 1, you don't KNOW any of that - it's your OPINION (I wonder why so many people don't seem to know the difference...).

Number 2, Romo may not be a better choice right now, but to say he will do WORSE than Bledsoe did in Jacksonville and Philly is pretty naive. While I certainly expect that Bledsoe will play better as time goes on, he played about as poorly as possible in those games. It doesn't take a hot shot QB to equal or surpass those performances - or even a mediocre back-up. Hell, Babe Laufenberg could equal those performances - maybe even at the age his now.

Check your sarcasm detection meter please. I think it may be broken. :D

I am just curious about a few things since you are obviously a big time Bledsoe supporter.

Do you maintain that the job is Bledsoe's until he retires?

At some point you have to transition from Bledsoe to the next guy. If Dallas whimpers off via a quick exit from the playoffs or not even making the playoffs what do you do next year?

Clearly under the "best chance to win" that many preach, Bledsoe will still be the guy next year because Romo still will have never seen a meaningfull snap in a real football game. And the next year, and the next year and so on and so forth.

I find it hard to believe that so many are willing to ride out the season this year regardless of how Bledsoe plays, but are more than willing to give Romo a shot next year.

Romo is not a rookie, really what is another preseason going to do for him. He needs playing time in a real game not another preseason.

Again, this is not me saying Bledsoe must be benched now but I am curious as to how you see the transition to Romo going down.

You do understand that by making the change there is a pretty good chance the remainder of this season will be lost for the Cowboys? Sure, Romo may be the future but he's going to have to take his lumps like every other QB. He might not be as good out of the gate as Brady. The only action Romo has seen is in the pre-season and the regular season is a totally different game. You haven't heard crying from T.O. yet like you will if Romo replaces Bledsoe.

Well, if your reasoning is valid, then Dallas is stuck with Bledsoe for a long time. At what point would Romo or his son ever take the field?

I have yet so see someone answer that question with any clear answer yet. Clearly changing a QB is a big deal, but sometimes you have to roll the dice.

The best chance to win people would let QBs play well into their 40s and then upon injury force a 10 year rookie into the game.

Give Romo his shot if and once the Boys are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Until then, you got have to stick with the Deadsloe. Also, got to keep things in perspective: we've played 4 games so far, that's 25% of the season. Could have easily tied that game in Philly if Bled didn't make such an errant pass. Our team is light years ahead of the cellar teams like Oakland the Bucs.

There is the old saying about the devil you know being better than the devil you don't. that said at some point Romo will have to play and earn his lumps. weather it's the last few games of a dead season or the first few of a new one.

No, you're not stuck with Bledsoe. The point is that teams that commit to youth at the QB position have to be willing to fight through the young QB pains, which usually amounts to losses. Happens to most teams.
