Not to hijack this thread, but I am shocked Hayden is still on the roster. Because he is liked by coaches doesn't matter to me. What you do on the field should always trump something like that. I'll be disappointed if we don't upgrade that roster spot in the off season.

Yes and no....he's limited for sure but at least he's dependable. I wouldn't get too upset as I seriously doubt he'll be around next season. He's served his purpose.

That is a good question this week, but If he is even ambulatory, it's hard to imagine a scenario where he wouldn't replace Hayden by the Philly game.

i think street might be the most logical person to deactivate. we have beasley, dez, williams and harris there so we can still go 4 wr's when needed

depends if they wanna run Dez out of slot more.
he is very effective there and if so they'd bring Street.

I'd keep Street and use Dez and Escobar as my slot options.

Both guys are much better blockers with large pass catch areas that can fight for yards after catch.
Dez is Dez so 5 yards is liable to end up 15 after a broken tackle or three.
Escobar gains 3 yards falling forward.

Hayden has been very solid this year and if not overexposed by being asked to play too many snaps he is a very good rotational run stuff guy.
I seriously doubt he's going anywhere except to the bench to be a back up for Brent next year.

Play him. Call me crazy but I'd like to see him as an extra lineman/FB on goal line plays on offense. This on top of 15 snaps on defense.

Hasnt he been practicing with the team for a few weeks now? If so get him out there.

Street looks slow maybe its just me.

Needs at least a full offseason in the weight room. Could easily carry 210-215 lbs on his frame. As he adds strength and enhances his explosiveness, maybe then we'll see a good NFL WR. Realistically, we want to hear some glowing reports on him next year's train camp.

My gut is he replaces whoever the most banged up DT is after New York for Philly on the short week.

They tried Brent at FB back when he was in peak condition. It didn't work well.

That concept would be better with a DLineman this is very quick. Even a 290 pound DL is a really big FB.

Bernadeau would probably be a better option as short yardage FB because he knows the blocking scheme and knows blocking techniques.

I'd activate Brent to get him 10-15 plays as a rust removal deal.
Not gonna try him forst time out versus Philly but I would like to know he can help stop the Philly run game.

I'd go short at WR either Street or Beasley sitting. This is because it is getting cold and time to focus on physical match ups and winning with the big boys on both sides of the ball.
Rather have a fresh, part-time 15 play DT then a 20 play WR.

If it's a wideout sit street. Bee's is a chain mover when called upon, to date street is still learning and not contributing much if any.

Good point on Mack. I didn't recall them trying that out with Brent.

Yes, they tried Brent and before that they tried Montrae Holland. Back then it didn't appear that either of them were really prepared to do it. My guess is that they spent a bare minimum of time practicing it. I've always wanted to see them commit to having a Lineman really learn how to play that position like Alabama did a few years ago with the DL Jesse Williams. That guy was a really good as FB and often got several snaps per game doing it.

I think that's reasonable. He isnt in shape and two games in 5 days would be especially hard for him

No, if you want players made of iron, you throw them in the FIRE! Get that fat boy out there! This isn't summer camp!

That's ridiculous. A tired, winded player who isn't in good shape is going to hurt the defense. This isn't some moronic basic training scenario. These are actual games that matter.

Okay, here's my serious take. This guy has known he was going to be reinstated and has had several weeks to work out with the team. And I'm supposed to believe he can't get out there for 15 to 20 plays? I don't think he can run out there and automatically be an every down player, but 15 to 20 plays isn't exactly asking him to compete in the Ironman in Hawaii. If he gets a little winded, suck it up. We've got a SB to win in a few weeks.
