Except there is basis in fact here. After the Atlanta game, Dak was constantly looking over his shoulder. He felt pressure as he never had in his young career, and it affected his mechanics as he started hurrying throws. When a pitcher rushes his dellvery, it changes his release point and causes the baseball to come in high. I imagine a QB rushing his throws would have the same effect. Dak was “wild high” on several occasions last season.

The addition of Connor Willams hopefully solidifies the OL, and having Fleming at swing tackle in the event Tyron or Lael goes down should calm Dak’s angst, where (again, hopefully) he can be more efficient with his mechanics. If we see this unfold, he could return to 2916 form.

Yet,just like taking that utmost & all important extra 1/2 second of focused observation on that front sight in making a running target pistol shot,,,#4 must implement the same dictums of discipline in his heated & hurried " shots" he takes as well,,,planted feet ,lead toe pointing at x ring or doe's neck,squared shoulders,,, blah,blah,,,he knows the drill.

That said...you still cannot simply ignore that Prescott had 8 games last year where he threw for less than 200 yards. The truth is almost always closer to the middle than on the edges. The Cowboys brass are circling the wagons because they have to now defend how they handled Dez (which was rather poor). If his production was a problem (as McClay says) then perhaps they should have released him earlier than they did (which would have been a courtesy). I didn't like the way they handled Romo either...not allowing him a chance to reclaim his position as starter. Their hands are not clean in this business...and the coaches can't be totally absolved either. They are the same coaches who had no answer after Tyron Smith went down...and the Cowboys proceeded to drop three consecutive games because of it.

Tape doesn't lie. The Buffalo GM basically said the same about Dez. Now with that said, Dez is still capable of being a productive WR. He needs to find the right scheme fit and QB.

Perhaps...but I would trust a Buffalo GM about as far as I could kick him down a steep grade. They haven't won anything worth mentioning since Jim Kelly was behind center.

It says it all about Bryant's talent level--and his expectations. He's thinking he's still something special and should get a big check and lots of balls thrown his way.

The league sees him as a 'meh' #2 receiver with waning athleticism.

32 teams are conveying their view: Dez you ain't all that.

Makes me sad a little as I know how much he loves football. Since he really didn't have much of a family or a dad...he's found a bit of both in the league. I imagine he's feeling a bit like an orphaned child right now.

Dez needs to be playing with a very good veteran QB, someone who can dictate and control him. It is that simple for me. I like the kid, misunderstood at times but it wasn't working here with Dak. I don't wish him ill will or future failure.

I think a place like New Orleans would be ideal for him as long as Brees is still playing. Detroit would be a good place too but I am not saying either is a fit, just those QB's could be ideal for Bryant within their systems.

He will not be without a job but his unemployed could go as far as training camp to see who gets injured or not.

Yeah, I didn’t want to seem too hard on him. I’ve always supported Dak but the end of last season has me slightly concerned. Even if he works out this year, he needs to make some improvements in his game to take us to the next level and hopefully he will.

Maybe he should press that 'Dak Attack' with his legs more often
( breaking out of that pocket passer JG shoehorned him into),,, JG can't munch too much butt on a 3rd&9 if #4 flushes and rips off 14,,, or even improvise with #21

Honestly, I don't Dez talent or ??? talent as some put it, is what's holding him back. I think it what's between his ears, such as attitude, cockiness and the bad interview he did the day he was released. Revenge can be tricky, especially if it's used the wrong way. Think about his attitude when he was released about staying in NFCE. It showed a player arrogant, cocky and completely misguided to come across as if all he had to do was dial any NFCE team's number and he gets a contract. He had every right to be upset but at the end of the day there's a certain norm people look for and it's not pointing fingers and throwing teammates and coaches under the bus........even if what he says it sure, most people don't wanna hear it. They wanna see humility, taking responsibility.........

I hate to say this ( he'll always be a favorite ) but IMO as of now, he's seen around the league as high maintenance. Add what his former team is saying about declining skills, most teams/coaches probably don't think he's worth trouble.

The nature of his exit certainly didn't help his cause to be sure. Some teams will put up with high maintenance as long as the production is sufficient, though. He might still latch on with a team eventually if they're willing to tolerate his ways. In the meantime, he'll have time to consider his mistakes and perhaps he'll even adjust his attitude to some extent. It will be interesting to see what becomes of him in time. Come what may, I wish him well.

It's not odd if you pay attention. The staff even said they're not bringing in an older veteran or drafting an early QB.
Since we only have two QB's it makes perfect sense to have a 3rd.

As far as Dez. He's responsible for his own things. Especially his meltdowns. Greatly effects the team.

Correct...coupled with a swiss cheese left side pf the oline and the fact that Llinehan failed to give that side of the line some help...ie a blocking tightend..or 2 TE sets..OR A HOT READ/CHECK DOWN GUY. I find it ignorant if anything,that SOME on here lean towards hate of Dak when 99% of what happended in 2017 was not on him. Another clue should've been when opposing teams started to defend him with single coverage WITH success.

None of this is news.

Whether he rushed back, or all the injuries, or not improving his craft, or being a pain in everyone's backside or whatever, Dez is no longer a #1, which is what I and many others have been stating for a while now.

That's my point, if it's obvious is obvious. More to my point is you are the freaking GM, in effect, so you just say some generic Garrett speak and move on. Just my 2 cents on how you handle that and the media.

agree GREAT POINTS. Its just not worth the drama he brings...the talent doesn't offset the risk(drama/immaturity). He is acting mentally erratic and actually seems as if he needs real counseling. I would be very concerned on this front if I'm a GM thinking about bringin him in for a look.

Dez is no spring chicken. Besides his mental issues he's not fresh and 100% healthy. Not a good combo.
