Will McClay is in the final year of his contract, could we lose him?

He's been loved and hated by fans, i'd say he deserves more love than hate if anything. He's helped us draft some good players over the years. Will he be brought back, or will he go elsewhere? What would his loss mean to this organization? Please give your thoughts

I am sure Jerry can make the calls on his own.

What could go wrong? The Trance trade worked out well.

I can't see him leaving a stable job for one where he could be fired in a few years.

The Cowboys go through this every few years. Where else can you make a ton of dough with no accountability? He is going nowhere as long as Jerry keeps signing his checks. Seems to be the theme is Dallas.

Dallas last two season draft class has been POOR @ best. Back-to-Back mediocre/bust 1st rd picks. This coming on years of 2nd round draft BUSTS

McClay doesn't make the picks.

At this point, I don't care who stays or goes because I totally get it of these guys want to see what other organizations have to offer. I like the job will has done, but I also think he wouldn't be as big of a loss as I once believed.

Dont worry. I am sure one of the grand kids will make a great head of player personnel. Maybe Spaulding?

Many of those grandkids are now in their 20s. Don't think for a minute that they will all be involved in this organization.

But was that McClay or Jerry?? I mean Jerry has the final say, and who's to say McClay didn't try to get TJ Watt, but Marinelli convinced Jerry he's not a good "fit" here.

Actually it is pretty well known that McClay DID try to talk Marinelli into Watt but Marinelli was stuck on stu--- er uh-- not a good scheme fit and McClay was overruled. Nobody bats a thousand. McClay has had misses just like everybody else. However his overall track record is as good as anyone in the league. Well that goes to the whole personnel team not just Will.

Other then Parsons what great players have we drafted in the last 4 years? Far more duds then studs.

Umm Tyler Smith, D. Overshown, Daron Bland, for starters.. and I like what I saw from Kneeland too! Ferguson is also a stud when healthy.

I could care less if we lose McClay there hasn’t been anything special about our drafts the last few years. Our last two first round picks have been duds. Jerry still makes the final decision on who we draft.
