Will McClay has turned down multiple general manager offers to leave Dallas. He has proved to be an excellent director of scouting, in which the Cowboys have drafted more pro bowl players then any other team over the last decade. Sure, he has had some misses, so so do all scouting departments around the league. Point is, he has a successful track record.

With over 20 years without even a Conference Championship appearance, the Jones Family has failed, without the train robbery deal for Walker, it is debatable they ever win a championship since they bought the team. Will Jerry/Stephen give up the power? Only happens if someone who they respect convinces that the best course of action; Jimmy, Bellicheck, Saban are the type of coaches with clout that can try to convince them, try is the key word. Sad thing is, we may already have a strong GM in the building and he doesn't even have the job in McClay!

I was just mentioning in another thread to @Bobhaze that it would be really cool to see. It’s not like the other Owners don’t get involved in the process either. Let McClay have the checkbook and let’s just find out. Everything pretty much is that way except that Stephen holds the checkbook….

Will McClay needs to leave and become a successful GM for another team. He would never get the opportunity in Dallas. That would once again prove how bad Jerry is and that he had other capable people right under his nose but he chose to meddle and mess everything up.

Only to be Micro managed, and to have his draft all wrapped up only to have the owner spill the beans on who they're possibly thinking of drafting!!

I've been a McClay guy since he was the HC of the arena league but i'd rather see McClay go be a real GM somewhere else where the owner doesn't undermine him. The Cowboys are no longer a real football team with they are male cheerleaders and for entertainment purposes only.

Get the guy from the Eagles, he's not scared to make some touch choices

It's time to move on from all of them. It will never happen but apparently keeping McClay for life is the answer.
he and MM the same way we kept your boy Jason Garrett for such a long time
