Will Romo's injury spare Garrett's job?

If we don't make the playoffs again, then yes, he needs to go. I'm sorry, but although a 6 and 1 start is awesome, it doesn't matter how you start the season. It matters how you finish it.

Two of the Cowboys three losses have been with Romo. If the Cowboys collapse and miss the playoffs after a 6-1 start Garrett will be in trouble.

Doesn't matter who the HC is. No players. No wins. Simple as that.

Jerry Jones needs to fire himself.

how do we not have any players? Best O-line in the league. Tremendous WR tandem in Williams and Bryant. HOF Tight End Jason Witten. Record-breaking season from Demarco Murray. If you're not translating that into wins, that goes on coaching.

That's exactly why in the hypothetical scenario where the Cowboys fail to make the playoffs that of course he should be fired.

4 1/2 years is enough to show you are a good enough coach to make the playoffs -- despite whatever adversity you may have faced over that half a decade.

Well, 8 of the Cowboys' 9 games have been with Romo.

My point is one loss without Romo isn't going to save Garrett's job. If the team continues this downward spiral we've seen the past 2 weeks and ends up missing the playoffs Garrett will be in trouble and should be. The Cowboys had been winning because they were able to control the ball limiting the time the defense had to spend on the field. The longer the D is on the field the more they're being exposed.

Prior to today the Cowboys defense spent the fewest number of snaps on the field of any defense in the league. Garrett signed off on signing Weeden so he has to take some of the blame for him being the backup. Weeden's performance today was very reminiscent of the performances we saw from Bad....Brad Johnson when he had to start in place of Romo.

ARI pretty much lined up the same way all game and dared Weeden to beat them.

I find it funny that some people think that we would have beat the Cards with a healthy Romo, because he's only beat them once in 3 meetings.

Overrated? Ya the Cowboys surely are because the defense isn't good, and the backups across the board aren't good enough.

Meanwhile Arizona has a ton of injuries on defense, and they dominated the Cows.

Any win without your starter is a positive for the coaches, but one loss won't have much of an effect either way.

The Cards went 2-1 with Stanton subbing for Palmer this season including wins over the Giants and 49ers. The Cowboys wanted Orton but were forced to settle with Weeden and he showed today they made a big mistake. The Cowboys better hope Romo doesn't miss anymore games because even JAX might have a chance facing Weeden.

It's a dumb question. What does any HC "bring to the table" after a loss where the backup QB craps the bed? And how can any fan possibly answer that given what little insight we have into how the staff operated today, and what adjustments they tried to make to the fact that there was zero downfield passing game.

What it is, is you rolling over and blaming Garrett reflexively for an obvious limitation at the QB position.

so nothing?

backup takes reps every week yet looks like that? i don't blame you for trying to distance garrett from that performance. facts are though garrett is a guy who deals exclusively with the offense and his offense let us down 2 weeks in a row.

Why is so much of season hinging on HOPE ???

Romo's injury and the injuries we're starting to see on defense. We're losing games and players the tide has changed.

Ya think?

Jax steamrolls the Cowboys with Weeden playing! That is why some are talking about a 60% Romo is better than a 100% Weeden. He flat out stinks! lol

Yeah, I wish QC was with the team still. lol

Who pushed for that backup QB to get signed with the Cowboys? The HC.
